What Do We Do?

I seem to encounter more and more toxic players lately, is anyone else finding this? How do we as a community change this culture? How do we (the majority) who want a friendly, fun game overcome seemingly constant negativity? For the past few days especially, over half of my games have had an AFK, someone trash talking, intentional feeding, etc. I'm not perfect, I've said inappropriate things in the past and gotten frustrated too, but it feels like the whole in-game vibe has taken a real turn for the worse lately. I feel like I'm reporting someone constantly, and I've got a pretty thick skin when it comes to swearing, offensive language like slurs and whatnot.

Do we try to express more positivity and hope that at an individual level we can each make a small change that makes the game more enjoyable? Do we start pestering Riot for heftier punishments of those who misbehave? Is anyone else finding this or have I just had a run of terrible luck the past week?

This is a great game, I hate to see it degenerate into negativity and trolling, but at an individual level I'm unsure what can really be done.

Thoughts?

Nothing more than report and move on. Hopefully tribunal comes back one day and people can get some satisfaction of knowing the system works. Right now it's all behind closed doors and you can't be so easily reasured.

Try to be positive in your games. I try, but when you see people be toxic in chat there is nothing you can do to stop them. Engaging with them won't solve the problem and more often than not will just cause more problems. When people are that toxic just mute to stop it from continuing and when the game ends report them and leave as much details as you can about the situation. This will help whom ever reads the report to have basically an easy search and punish accordingly!

But as I said always try to be positive. People will try to bring you down and you just don't let them get to you. It might be rough. But I'm sure you can get through it, especially if you keep a positive attitude!

One typical reason why players are toxic, salty or edgy is out of the fact the team they are playing in are either bad or just BAD, period. I used to be a positive person, but with all the trolls and scrubs lately, I'm on a losing streak.
