Just as the title suggests, I got to honor 5 then had a game where my friend and I were stuck with 3 really toxic players. I lost my cool and called one of them a retard and flamed them back, because he flamed me for not ganking top while I was being chased down and killed in my jungle, blah, blah, blah, not gonna write down all the details. Just know that top/mid/adc all flamed me and my friend and I fought back a good bit.

After the game (reported all 3 of them of course) I started a new one a found myself chat restricted for 10 games and afterwards I saw I was back to honor 1. Now while I think going to honor 1 from honor 5 just off one game is kinda silly, the chat restriction was probably deserved.

Moral of the story is that no matter how dumb or toxic they are being, don't bother with insults unless you wanna lose all of your honor. Even the more honorable among you can still find yourself smited by rito. Not even honor 5's are safe.

U got down to lvl 1 from lvl 5 just for one chat restriction?

And they wan't people to stop flaming and abusive?

LOL I would be more toxic right now if I lost instantly 4 levels.

Well, chat restrictions don't often occur after one match, unless the offense was severe (and if it were that severe, you likely would have skipped to a suspension). You could reach out to Player Support to see if they can pull your recent chat logs, and perhaps we may see an underlying trend with your behavior. And if you believe that the system may have applied the chat restriction in error, you could bring that up with Player Support as well.

The moral of the story is pretty on point, though. Retaliation is no excuse for negative behavior, and you have the potential to lose just as much, if not more, than the other folks who are harassing you. Best course of action is to ignore them, report, and move on. Best of luck on the honor climb!

Accounts that show signs of persistent negative behavior are often first punished with chat restrictions.

Sucks that you went from 5 to 1, but the alternative would be to allow players to "bank" leniency. A community where honor 5 players know that they can get away with flaming folks without facing the same consequences as players at a lower honor level isn't healthy.

  • Can you post your chatlogs for reference?
  • Did you think that being h5 would make you immune to toxicity?
  • How many games do you play a week?
  • If you had the choice to improve one thing of the behavioral system, what would it be?

i thought i thought a chat restriction was considered the first warning?

what kind of 'warning' destroys 5 months of honor progress?
