I got reported - and all I did was miss a Baron attempt (apparently I'm now "racist")

I thought I'd play a happy game of league of legends - pick my favourite champ "Kled/Skaarl" and play for a bit of fun.

Instead I die twice in the first 10 minutes and my top laner begins telling me how to play my "damn champ" even though i actually main Kled He really starts to flame me hard - saying I'm the "worst player ever" and therefore I mute him However, after I miss a surprise Baron attempt - (I was in bot lane) - my team lose the Baron and I get all the blame for not being there Then the worst part? - My top laner starts putting stuff into the all chat (I unmuted to check to see if anything was being said) and he was LYING into the all chat saying I'd been "racist" and "inappropriate"

I really didn't want a report for this because its not true - I'm honor lvl 5 and yet when I have a bad game - that makes it alright for people to reprot me for stuff that completely isn't true.

This was one of the worst LoL experiences I've had and I don't want to just leave my LoL experience at that... I'm not looking for sympathy because I know I won't get it. All I'm saying is that LoL has become very toxic and aggressive over these last few months and because of players like this I now want to quit the game yet it seems a bit of a waste to lose all I've done.

Is this report something to worry about? And what is the solution to this? - I could /mute all and then lose out on some valueble info (eg/ ss mid) or could miss some lie being told to get me reproted... I just want to hear other people's thoughts - is LoL getting too aggressive or is that just my experiences?

Thanks for reading - I know it wasn't exactly cheerful...

It doesn't help that Kled only has one skin too...

Jackasses will be jackasses. False reports have no weight, so there's nothing for you to worry about. I personally wouldn't /muteall and would instead simply mute as needed, but that's your call to make.

It's the worst league experience cos you don't know how the system works. Allow me to shed some light to calm your worries:

  • False reports get thrown out by the system
  • Multiple reports act the same way as 1 report
  • Them asking for reports in this context counts as harassment and you can report them for harassment

Normally when I see people doing stuff like that dude in your game, I smile as I know I didn't do anything wrong to validate their reports, and they are harassing me, which makes my report valid against them.

In the chance I get a punishment feedback, that is the best feeling ever.

Baron kills everyone, including black people. You failed to stop Baron. Ergo you're letting them die.

As long as you didn't retaliate, you should be fine. Muting them also helps.

It really boils down if your story is true and you didn't engage them in toxic chat "to defend yourself".

If you didn't? then all good, false reports get thrown away.

dont worry i been in your shoes before where my jg was telling the enemy team i was being racist in chat plus telling lies but in the end the best part was getting a message that a player u just reported just got penalized

I honestly don't understand why players would make such lies. Like, what are they trying to do/prove?

I'm also a honor 5 player, and I mostly encourage my teammates to play better (in a nice kind of way)

When I have bad games, I usually never get tilted since I played league since beta (I have finally endured toxicity)

I hope these players with these "attitudes" get a harshly punishment.

False reports won't do anything, and neither will mass reports (1 = 9 and 9 = 1, so you won't get "outnumbered" by a premade or anything). So even if that guy + the enemy team that believed him reported, you're fine as you did nothing wrong.

You should've reported him if you haven't though, as that's harassment.

LoL has gotten less aggressive IME, but Preseason is pretty stressful for players and a lot of players are starting to care less about the result of their behavior with how little they're starting to care about the game itself. Combination of the honor system + heavier moderation seems to keep things cooler (usually there would be at least 2 people bickering in all my games, now maybe once every 5), but can't help those who don't care.

We've all been reported for no real reason before. Don't worry, fake reports hardly amount to anything

Yeah, I personally believe the game became increasingly toxic around the time T1 became a popular streamer two years ago. It has gotten progressively worse imo over the years.

Were you playing jungle? I'm just asking because if your team went for a baron without the jg, that would be really odd. Based on what you said that's imaginable, your teammates didn't exactly sound mentally balanced. But if not that, nor top, then what position did you play as Kled?

False reports will do nothing. That's why muting people is actually a great option because you won't be tempted to reply to them and accidentally say something that could get you banned.

Who cares about what people are lying about in chat? They review all reports and if you did nothing wrong, don't worry about it. Also, just weigh the pros and cons of muting. Feelings vs potential info. If toxicity really bothers you, yeah stick with muting. Pings are pretty sufficient at relaying important information.
