Summoner's code question

Doesn't it say in the Summoner's Code that you always have to try your best to win? Wouldn't surrendering be the opposite of that? Should people who click surrender get banned for violating the code?

There really isn't much of anything about winning in the summoners code. Only not to be a dick when you are winning.

"1. Support your team."

This is where trying your best comes in. Your team wants to win and that makes trying to win part of supporting your team. Surrendering has nothing to do with trying to win, it ends the game when the team decides it is a loss. More than that it is a practical solution in a game where snowballing exists and you can get to a point where it isn't possible to win and continuing just wastes everyone time.

By surrendering, you are preventing further tilt that could cause you to lose other games that were winnable
