Police the ACTIONS, not the WORDS

  1. If someone is raging lunatic, I have options to solve my own problem with them. a. Mute b. Block

Problem solved. RIOT, respectively, I do not need you to legislate communication or social issues. Are we Back in the USSR (you don't how how lucky you are) ?

  1. What I need from you, is to penalize the ghosting, the INTING, the AFK'ing, the TROLLING, and the ACTIONABLE GRIEFING.

Solve problem 2, and problem 1 solves itself.

*Perhaps because I was born before the millenial crisis, I feel empowered to solve my own problems which I can, and only ask for help with issues out of my control. *Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me? Perhaps RIOT should add this to the TIP: upon loading? /shrug

Ghosting is sort of solved by setting a delay on your stream, granted not sure how large of a problem it is.

Inting and Trolling: As soon as there is a sure fire way to determine intent behind actions, then no problem. Until then, the smarter ones will take longer to catch. One thing we can do as a community is make sure we are accurated with our reports. "Did they really int ot was it a bad game?" Is a question to ask yourself.

AFK. Really isn't a great way to address this. Maybe something for being connected and just sitting at fountain but then people maybe just quit match to avoid that.

People who cannot rage in chat usually resort to gameplay troll. Policing "words" (ban them) also usually stop the potential gameplay troll.

Solve problem 1, problem 2 solves most of itself.

The time you spend typing out insults and the like in chat is time better spent actually playing the game itself. Not only that but chat is meant to be used as a tool to communicate properly with other players, not as a "how much vitriol can I fill it with?" contest. Besides Riot already tried applying perma-mutes to people and most of them just resorted to trolling and griefing when they couldn't use chat to abuse people. We don't want toxic players switching up their ways of griefing people, we just want them to stop griefing people period. If they won't do that then they shouldn't be allowed to play.

Both are a problem, but one is easier to track and punish than the other is.

NOTE: I agree that people should make more use of the mute button when need be but it's meant to be a band-aid solution at most rather than a be all-end all solution for chat related toxicity, and it is not meant to excuse the poor behavior itself.

Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me?

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all?

Do unto others as you would have done unto you?

"There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man."?

How does anyone pretend that the idea of being respectful to others is a "millennial" idea?

Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but names can never hurt me?

There's entire fields of study in psychology that prove that old adage wrong.

Lol so if someone threatens to find and kill your family, repetitively tells you to end your life, and says that you have a mental disorder— just because you didn’t get an item that they told you to get is a-ok, but if someone has a bad game- and or is new to a champion, they must bet perma’d?

So what, yea I can mute and report but it still hurts. It’s like if someone stabs me, I can call the cops and bandage the wound, it’ll still hurt. It’ll probably leave a scar as well. If someone doesn’t know how to play a champ, help them?? Don’t get mad and tell them to end their life?? If they did bad, they did bad. You can’t turn back time and make them suddenly fed, it already happened so face it.

If someone is inting, you can’t stop them. You can flame them all you want, but that won’t stop them. Just face it. Flaming does no good and neither do inters. If anything that’s what an inter wants. They WANT you to flame them so that you’ll get banned. Don’t fall into the trap, and don’t flame— and be a positive player.

The IFS is done. It being there does not somehow diminish Feeder Buster.

Once again, it appears I need to restate this. I thought I was pretty clear in my OP. Apparently not. So now I must use all caps so you can hear?! me yelling harder / louder

YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO SOLVE YOUR OWN COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS WITH BLOCK AND MUTE.

WHY IS EVERYONE MORE OBSESSED WITH WHAT PEOPLE SAY VS WHAT PEOPLE DO?

I'll mute you so i dont have to see your crap

I'll report you so others dont

get it?

But see the ghosting, the inting, the AFKing and the trolling all pay for $$$$$$$$$kin$$$$$$$$$$. Why not just pretend to care about the overall health of the game and simply auto ban people who get reported enough times.
