This system gives to much power to trolls, premades and enraged players, it encouraged me to leave
2 games where 1 individual deliberately ruined the game and went also on an insulting spree in chat. Everyone reported them and they both got a penalty. But on the other end, I got one aswell. In both games I pointed out that it was not me that made their game bad, but their own mistakes, and muted them when they went too far to not get drawn into a flame war. I went to support, but they said that while i didn't insult anyone, i should have not even got into an argue, and prob not said anything.
The first issue here is that you are guilty if you say anything back. Even if you take insults, and don't trow insults back, but a laid out argument, supposedly by Riot, you are still guilty and sanctions get uphold.
THe second issue is that RIOT expects you to just take it, be quiet and mute in worst case scenario. That's not normal for most people. People have learned in life to stand up for themselves, and talking back to someone attacking you is part of that. It's a biological thing.
Individuals, players, they can be toxic, and most moba players have taken it for granted that they have to deal with them from time to time. But I'm not used to dealing with a system that helps enraged, toxic and trolling players push a punishment on anyone that points to them or talks back. That very system encourages these players, gives them power and satisfaction to continue doing what they do.
Your game Riot, has the same amount of toxicity as it had when i started playing it, in season 1. Now, because of this system combined with your policies, that i together label as toxic, is the thing that drove me away from this game. Not the toxic player base, but the system. I can fight the players, but i can't fight the system you put in place. Being punished while not crossing the line is something i can't take, but that's not why I'm writing this, that's just why I'm leaving.
I'm writing this for you Riot, this automated system is easily seen through and abused. It doesn't reduce toxicity, it just punishes players altogether, good and bad ones, depending who is in the wrong game at the wrong time. Combine that with your unrealistic and not humane policies about human behavior, and you can see why it doesn't do any good. In the best scenario, people will shy away from chat, which will reduce this game to playing with living bots.In the worst case it will slowly deteriorate your game into children throwing tantrums and reports at each other, until even they realize they had enough.
Tribunal had much less errors and gaps then the automated system. Take that into account if you ever want to improve the system or adjust the policies.....
