Is something wrong with me?

I was playing Amumu mid against Lux, I killed her 4 times and had 0 deaths. I had about 70 more minions slain than her, had about 90% turret health to her roughly 15% but I was extremely pissed off laning against her!

She kept spamming the laugh after she landed a combo (which was especially annoying before I got my 1st kill) and it rubbed me the wrong way.

Can I report that as verbal harassment or something? It was extremely abusive and I think I may have broken my computer if she was winning lane. I don't think I have anger issues, but that laugh was definitely toxic. I didn't report her after the game because I didn't know what box to check, but their has to an option for it.

Unsportsmanlike?

Laugh spamming is taunting, and taunting is fun. Don't be so damn sensitive- laugh right back and enjoy yourself.

Yes, there is something wrong with you. It's called being a cupcake. Grow up.

I don't know if emote spam is reportable, but why would it bother you when you completely wiped your hiney with her?

There's nothing you can do, if all they do is spamming emoji (taunting, dance, laugh).

Personally, I do not like it and I share your sentiment/feeling about it.

On the other hands, think like that: The reason why she spammed it because she lost her lane -- she won't spam it otherwise.

That's probably her way of "admitting defeat" or "honoring your skill play."

Some people will try to tilt their opponents, this being 1 of the methods. Anything is fair in war, as they say. Perhaps it is unsportsmanlike to spam emotes, but I very much doubt they would receive punishment for it.

Letting something small like that bother you so much is an issue you're going to have to work out.

This is where the board and I diverge. I don't understand why the board is so in favor of laugh spam. If I typed 'A' into all chat every five seconds, it would get on your nerves. And you'd gleefully call me out for spam.

The fact that I have to stop playing the game to mute my opponent because they are deliberately trying to put me on edge is annoying.

Try to imagine playing the game with a yapping dog in the room. A yapping dog your opponent sent over to annoy you. A yapping dog that waits until you messed up in the slightest before yapping.

Yes, the Taunts may be annoying, especially Lux, Jinx, and Lulu in my personal opinion. However, there is really nothing you can do about it. You could report for unsportsmanlike conduct, but that would still be a long shot. But, as Da Supawaffle and TrulyBland said before, just mute them it will stop you from hearing it and if for some reason that doesn't work, turn off your sound. Though turning off your sound might be tough to hear helpful pings. No need to get frustrated over such little things that can be solved with simple solutions and basic knowledge of the behavioral system.

Next time something like this happens, mute them. It'll stop you from seeing it and hearing it.

After I made this post and read all your replies, I've browsed through the Player Behavior section of the forum and it's quite clear that most players agree that people should be reported restricted/suspended quoting certain champion quotes for certain champions. The guy who got the chat restriction even posted a youtube champion spotlight link of the champion he was quoting. His e-mail said he was restricted for verbal abuse, harassment and unsportsmanlike conduct.

My first question is, of course, why do in game emotes have phrases that violate RIOT's terms of service? Then my second question is, why aren't there consequences for spamming these emotes, if there are consequences for typing the phrase ver batim?

The most you could do is report for unsportsmanlike conduct. However that is part of the game and has become one of the few (albeit annoying) things that players can get away with to taunt their enemies. It is passive aggresive... or passive toxic behavior. But not really ban-able.

why do you care if you won lane that hard?

don't be so sensitive, she's just having fun, reporting her is a dick move

I think there are more important things to deal with. Idk this is more of a rubbing the wrong way sorta of thing. I played a riven top and she laughed every time she killed me. yet I made a comeback and won lane and did not stop laughing.

You can only report emote "spam" if they use the command so many times in a row. I don't know what criteria Riot use. But in WoW, if you use an emote more than twelve or thirteen times in a ten second period, the GM's smack you. I imagine Riot has something similar.

But I'm not sure what the big fuss is. You said yourself that you killed her four times. I'd say you got the last laugh on that one.

Quick note about Lux. Her abilities slow or freeze you in place. You can still attack while under her shiny effects. So, if she's within range, shoot her.
