I Want Trash Talking To Stay In League.

I understand that riot games want to promote the game on the biggest audience possible and for that to happen mothers need to feel safe about the game their kids play but please understand that trashtalking is a part of a competitive game. I know some tryhard dude will pop out of nowhere to say he plays ranked daily and doesnt want players with a negative attitude in his games but that guy probably stopped enjoying the game long ago... People Trash Talk with each other in ranked games for fun Just because youre losing a game and youre mad at your teamate doesnt mean that what was once playfull trash talking is now verbal abuse it just means youre an ass.

People who get banned for "trash talk" just don't know how to do it properly. I do it every game, and have yet to be banned, chat restricted, or even called out by anyone.

As long as you understand the difference between trash talk and flaming, you're never going to have any problems.

It's really unfortunate. Many Rioters love Dunkey's content, and I've unloaded my share of "Not even close babyyyyy" jokes around the office; however, we really can't show favoritism to someone just because they are a pro or a known content creator. This isn't really a debate about whether trashtalking is OK or not OK in games; we've talked a lot in the past about how we're OK with players bantering with their friends but you should be careful when interacting with strangers who may not understand your intentions--especially if you're using hate speech or slurs. We have a zero tolerance policy against hate speech, racism, homophobia, and sexism and that policy stands whether you're a random player, a pro player, or a Youtube celebrity.

This also really wasn't a case about intentional feeders and whether it's OK to be toxic towards other toxic players--there wasn't even a Malphite in the game that got him banned and either way, retaliation just isn't OK because it makes the experience worse for everyone else in the game.

We know that players have been asking us to be more aggressive against intentional feeders for awhile, and it has taken us a bit longer than we'd like. We do consider gameplay toxicity just as serious as verbal toxicity, and are launching a new Intentional Feeder Detection system in 5.18 that can ban feeders within 15 minutes of matches. We're starting with conservative settings to make sure the system would not ban players for having the rare bad game, even if it was a 0-10 type of bad game but this is a great first step to aggressively tackling intentional feeders.

At the end of the day, this incident sucks for everyone. We respect that Dunkey hasn't posted his Reform Card, and I'm not going to post it either. Best wishes to him in the future.

Trash talk is by far the most fun thing on League of Legends, and it is honestly sad that it is punished so heavily and readily.

I've been playing for 7 fkn years. Trashtalking was/is the best thing for me in this game. ESPECIALLY atm that i play with the same people since diamond 4+ community is so small you play with the same people every 2 games trashtalking eachother for mistakes is fun as fuck. i rly dont give a fuck if people are soft and get triggered by things like -HAhahahaha nice q retard OR the question mark spamm or the mastery lvl 7 spamm etc etc. Go play fucking mario if you want a game for kids or sonic. Downvote me all you want as i said before proves my point further. and YES good sir i feel the need to trashtalk a player of my level when he/she does a stupid mistake same way i dont mind people spamming boosted to me when i miss a flash combo with Riven or Yasuo.

And oh boy when i play against a premade in soloque..... question marks everytime he misses a cs XD.

up to season 5 the only way to get perma banned was to severely abuse soneone in the chat,right now riot has been trying to promote the game toyounger audiences and a lot of parents expressed their concer on cyber bullying thats why we have the current system.

If you feel the system is unfair towards you, you are more than welcome to leave You degrade the opinion of others by trying to state the age of a userbase. Who cares if a user is 13 or 50 Toxicity is not trash talking Harassing others is not always trash talking

Trash talking insulting or boastful speech intended to demoralize, intimidate, or humiliate someone, especially an opponent in an athletic contest.

Athletic- we can assume league is a sport, so lets roll with it

If you decide that you want to approach others in a manner that is unfitting of a player be my guest.
