Trolls Playing Ranked Lately (Statistics)

Why are people trolling in ranked lately? Is it because of new season? Am I just super unlucky these past 2 days?

Here are my actual statistics:

  • In 5/7 of my games there were afk/rage-quitters.

  • 3/7 were on my team

  • 2/3 were actually decent

  • In 3/7 of my games someone went super-negative, like 2/17 or 6/18 or something like that.

  • Also 4/7 had a really salty player, so salty they're report-worthy.

Why do people troll and/or just act badly in ranked? I understand doing bad, but I can't understand why someone would do badly, then continue to make the same mistakes 10 more times. This behavior is pretty unacceptable, and especially for ranked games. :(

I would guess a lot of the trolls are in one of two camps. Super tilted they were placed lower than they think they should have been, or simply have no intention of playing Dynamic queue once soloQ comes out. It was perhaps unwise to announce a new ranked format that people may ditch the current one for, as many feel like they're essentially in ranked limbo until soloQ is out.

Its pretty awful at the moment. Lots of raging in new champ select and people either afking or trolling. I wish there was a way to reduce the LP loss due to these people. Its already hard enough climbing but when you lose more than win due to afkers/trolls its impossible.
