People reporting for off meta picks

So, I just got auto filled and played a game of Xerath as support. Xerath has pretty much a 30% role rate as support, so I didn’t think much of it. The first game, someone says, “I’m not dealing with Xerath supp” and dodges. Great. Next game, nothing happens. Until I get first kill. I have a sivir adc, and they ignite a thresh walking away. This was only about 2-3 minutes into the game, so ignite only did around 70/90 true damage. I saw the thresh had 150hp, and it wouldn’t have killed him, so I q him and he dies. Here’s what follows: Sivir: ks GavinTFI: he wouldn’t have died Sivir: s7fu GavinTFI: lulw So, I continued as normal. We played about 1 minute later when I w’d a group of minions (maybe 5 minions) and sivir says, “I’m done ur garbage xerath fuc kyou” He leaves. Great. I ask the enemy team and my team to report him, and to which I get a response by the enemy Olaf saying, “why?” I say, “leaving and toxic” Enemy adc says, “report yourself for picking xerath support” Enemy support says, “^ lol” I say, “report yourself for inting then lul” So, I continue in lane 1v2ing the enemies, getting fed, and carrying. They end up ffing and I got a satisfying victory and a fat report on sivir.

TL;DR: my adc leaves because I play xerath support and carry. I ask if the enemy will report sivir for leaving and they tell me to report myself for playing xerath support

Point is, why do people hate off meta picks so much? I’ve played xerath support 3 times now; each time getting no less than an s-. My adc leaves and the enemies trash talk me because I choose a very good and viable character. Note: this isn’t high mmr and it’s in draft pick normal. I’m only level 36 (leveled up because of this game). This probably wouldn’t happen in like a diamond game but still, you get my point. Thanks for reading, and if you’ve ever done this, please say why. Xerath :)

I played as Shaco support once, I have never seen so many wards in my life XD

Because people are idiots. As you get 'further' in the game there will be less of an obsession with ks'ing. Play what you want and ignore them.

As far as the report, it doesn't matter. It's not going to count for anything since you didn't do anything wrong.

Lastly, keep in mind there is only one report needed to have the system review a game. Getting 9 reports does the same as 1. You're better off never asking for a report because if you do it excessively in a game, it can be viewed as 'negative attitude' and get you punished.

You started the game off with Doran's ring, which leads me to believe you were taking cs from the sivir. Makes the sivirs reaction a tad more understandable.

I'm sure you're just voicing your grievances because people are being asshats, but I'll just say--in reference to the title:

Reports do not matter unless you're doing something against the rules.

I play shaco supp with a 70% winrate, and i get flamed constantly - except by the people checking profiles. When the flaming happens, the ADC flaming ALWAYS... and i mean ALWAYS runs it down, does her BEST to avoid luring enemies into my boxes, tries everything she can to die by her own stupidity and then blames me for it. the population as a whole in this game is complete garbage.

Yeah my anivia support is pretty gross but maybe 10% of the time, I get some goon who thinks I'm trolling.

TendiesRdoom5/8/2019, 4:35:12 AM3 votes

Well, as an ADC main when you get off meta support who doesn't want to play the meta it really takes you out of the game, meaning you aren't likely to be able to make any sort of impact. When you prevent your own ADC from farming, like you admitted to doing, what should they do? We all get auto filled and should do our best to just play as a good team mate.

Basically you got a roll you didn't want, tilted out your own ADC with an off meta pick and by denying her CS, and then got her blamed when she tilted out. Put yourself in her shoes. I think you deserve a ban.

Fun fact: the highest winrate in the game right now is support katarina. Yes you heard me right. Support katarina has the highest winrate.

All this to confirm normals r still dog shit quality? Yes we know. To answer ur question, adcs job becomes significantly harder to impossible if u dont play the role.

Only mistake here is asking others to report. You dont need to. According to Riot, one report flags the review. Multiple reports does nothing to increase weight of penalty, likelyhood of review or punishment.

In certain cases, asking for reports (if done over and over) can be considered harassment and is reportable. Just play the game, report when done, and let it be.

Because people don't like to use their own brains and come up with their own play styles. Its a lot easier for them to copy what some korean pro player does then to have to use a slight amount of their own brain power and imagination. I used anivia as support in a ranked match because as a support main i felt her kit looked good for the role of support. I did not look anything up to make sure its acceptable by konji from korea first. I don't give a shit what konji from korea thinks. I have a brain and a set of balls all of my own to use. I don't have to piggy back off of someone else's. I simply used my own brain and made an observation and a decision to try it out all on my own :) and well what do you know? The adc was so triggered and hell bent on saying i was a troll non stop throughout the match . I just kept responding with mmmmmmmmmm....... I literally did not say shit else to my adc the entire time in that match. And guess who held our lane together? Me. Because he was to busy being butt hurt and insulting me. And being upset about someone doing their own thing to the point he was throwing his own game play off. Like i said i just kept laughing to myself and responding to every insult he could dish out with mmmmmmm..... and i was the only thing keeping our lane together. So while trying to make me out to be a troll he was only trolling himself lol. Because i did indeed give it my all and was 100% focused. Hence why i could not be bothered with his petty insults and attempts at titling me. And it only led to him tilting himself.

sorry for any misspells or other typing errors..... no wait... im not i dont give a shit what konji from korea thinks about my spelllling in a non importannt thing like an explannnation to somethin in a video game either?

people cry when you don't go by the meta book and will report you because of it. you're better off ignoring them and playing as normal. if they leave report them.

FSRER5/8/2019, 2:06:59 PM2 votes

Off meta? Nope he is not. Now, If I see a yasuo adc with ezreal support, them going 0/8 and 3/12, that, should be reportable and bannable.

Pika Fox5/7/2019, 2:29:24 PM2 votes

Because people are stupid, and adcs hate it when they arent the carry.

Also calling for reports is reportable/banable. Dont do it.

Butterwood5/16/2019, 2:54:58 PM1 votes

I get a lot of flack for Taliyah support too. People always think they know best.

Kei1435/7/2019, 4:39:44 AM1 votes

You really don't need to ask for reports. The system doesn't punish people based on report counts per game, it punishes based on consistency x severity. Meaning 1 report acts the same way as 9 reports.

I suggest you don't go asking for reports, as it is considered a mild harassment and continuously doing so will get you punished.

Sebastit7d5/7/2019, 11:15:01 AM1 votes

The problem is that people nowadays report for anything but truth is that if you know the rules you won't get punished. You picked a champ you wanted to play, you played it in a role he's not very popular in. So what? you didn't feed and even if you did poorly, as long as you didn't go something like 0/15 building AD or full tank you're not trying to lose the game. If picking a champ in an off role was against the rules we'd have positional exclusivity for the roles you get assigned as. People nowadays think they can only ever have fun if they win and pick the most meta shit. And that's Riot's fault for pushing that over-competitive nature by promoting Esports for so long. Now no one ever plays for fun and people become toxic as hell once someone doesn't play up to their unrealistic standards like they're good at the game or something.

TLDR: As long as you don't actually break any rules, play whatever the hell you want and pay no mind to anyone claiming to be reporting you, because you know you haven't done anything wrong.
