Player blocking function

Nothing is worse than getting in a slump in bronze 5... or is there? On the occasion, I have gotten into losing slumps and trying to climb out of b5 at, or near, 0 LP. Now this is not a complaint against the ranking system. That subject has been exhausted for years. What I would like to touch upon is repeat offenders. Trolls that intentionally stay in b5 because that's where they get their kicks. Chances are, if you've been in the slump zone in B5, then you will see multiple games with familiar faces, that no matter how many times they are reported, they still seem to escape justice for whatever reason. Typically it seems they have learned how to stay out of the spot light, or just somehow fly under the radar. One of the infuriating ones is where they start with a nice ban of your champ in pregame. Then they same nothing all game, farm, and don't feed, but refuse to help in any way.

What I propose to fix this kind of behavior, is player blocking. What I mean is that when you play with someone that griefs you, you can mark that player, and if you match with them multiple times (say 3) then each mark adds up to no longer being queued with them. Eventually (if they really are a troll) everyone will mark them and they will simply never find another match. Thoughts?

That would kill match making times.

your problem will soon be solved when you can get demoted from B5 into Iron tier.

But what happens if you start doing that to everyone that offroles/gets you autofilled? In elos with few enough people to remeet, you'd start biasing matchmaking to ensure that not only do you get your role, but the enemy team person in that slot would be filled. Very low and very high elo could be shifted a decent bit, and make matchmaking take ages.

I think Riot has not addressed this issue for a while. It was suggested a LONG time ago that blocked players are removed from your eligible matching pool but I think the concern expressed was queue times becoming extraordinarily long for some people who weren't being blocked and were not being toxic but were just the victims of toxicity.

They won't do that to avoid teammate cherrypicking in high elo.

What you can do is block them in-game. When you get teamed with them again, you get a "x player is blocked, his chat will be hidden" notification, what you can use to know when to dodge.

Be sure they were trolling(i.e very low recent WR, them dropping 1-2 tiers, etc.), otherwise you'll only end up wasting your LP and time for everyone in the lobby for dodgelisting innocent players! However if not in high elo, odds are you won't meet a player a 2nd time unless you requeue very fast, which is solved by... not doing that.
