i have never ever got any chat restriction and after this game i got a 14 day ban.

First, let us just establish right away. Regardless of anyone's opinions here. The act of telling another player to take their own life is going to get you banned.

Sorry but it's well established that "KYS" means "kill yourself."

You can say you meant "lots of love" when you typed "lol" in response to a sad post but unless you give context to your message it's going to be automatically assumed you meant the most popular use of the term.

Also this argument is the equivalent of typing "GG EZ" in end game chat and claiming you meant "Ezreal" even though there wasn't one in the game.

If you're in a premade you can send in a support ticket to explain the situation but you should be more careful about using terminology that can be taken out of context around people not in your group.

From experience in WoW, if you want to make racist jokes in chat make sure you invite all participants to a private group and use group chat. As anyone meandering by can see what gets typed and report you. Even if you thought you were safe in some isolated area on the map.

to clarify: i was talking in discord with my premade and we where joking. and one of myt friends made a joke and i said kiss yourself at the same time as i typed kys in chat, then someone out of my pre reported me. probably because he thought i insulted anyone.

Sorry, but the most common usage disagrees with your Googling for alternative definitions. You (and the OP) know full and well what the perception would be. This is unacceptable, and as The Djinn said above, zero tolerance.

I think what is more unacceptable is that KYS, automatically means the worst possible abbreviation.

He should not be banned, and zero tolerance is non sense. People are not perfect, and do make mistakes.

I agree with your point of view, but I also agree with his(what if he truly meant to say "Kiss your self")

And btw he was banned by an automated bot, think about that. Something with no conscious state of mind.

Once a word or acronym gets a meaning, you can't just say you were using it as something else. If I said CIA, you'd know I meant Central intelligence agency. If I said NASA you wouldn't think I meant nautical archeologists scream apples.

That's not how it works.

And if someone calls you a gentleman, clearly they're referring to the fact you own land and are just under the status of a nobleman.

The way we use language tends to be the most common definition, which is why context isn't always needed.

You can try, but you used kys because you knew what others ' accepted definition of the term is, regardless of how you try to spin it.
