Surprising Ban

Earlier today I was notified that one of my friends ShainilTheLegend had been permabanned and I was rather surprised. He's a very good kid and I was interested in reading the reasons why and after reading I was ultimately disgusted. Shainil is definitely not one of the best LoL players out there, but there are many worse and he always gives his best effort. As far as I know one cannot be banned for simply having a bad game and it seems as if his teammates ganged up on him for simply this reason and attacked and cursed at him and said they would report him. He then respond saying he would report them for cursing and then people say it was a justified ban because he threatened to ban? He simply responded to the illogical ban threat on him saying that they could get banned for what they were doing. Why he received a Permaban for responding to those who unjustly attacked him and fighting for himself without attacking others seems beyond me. I think that his case should be further looked into as he truly cares about this game.

Its not just one bad game though. Riot also gave him a 14 day ban for flaming in chat. He's had plenty of warnings and refused to try and better himself.

Here's his thread about his 14 day ban, his chattlog was pretty toxic then and he seems to not have improved much if he got a perma.

I read his post earlier today.

His chat log that he posted had a few occurrences where he wrote "kys". E.g. "fiddle ks" "kys*"

He later argued that kys did not mean kill yourself, but never explained what it actually meant. As far as I'm concerned, that's exactly what it meant (and the way he used it supports that) and that behavior is not acceptable and is a bannable offense.

Perhaps he was bullied (he only posted his own chat). I'm not sure of the circumstances and he could submit a report directly to Riot about it to have an investigation opened up. He should ask for it to be escalated immediately (otherwise he'll go through a couple weeks of it being handled with automated responses). Maybe he'll get his account back (it would help if he could explain what kys means).

Overall though, I think posting on the boards about it won't accomplish anything.

he was 14-day banned before and any small thing can trigger a punishment and get him punished.

the punishment after a 14-day is of course a perma. Small offense or not, he'll still get punished for it.

announcing to report is against the rules so yea if he did that, he opened himself up for reports that lead to a bann.

Riot does have a zero tolerance policy against hate speech, so if he typed racist or homophobic words that'd be why. Outside of those cases, it takes a lot more than one game to receive a punishment. Only people that are reported in a large percentage of their games ever get punished. The reason for that is to show the person is problematic regardless of what the circumstance of the game is.
