Riot giving out 14 days bans like hotcakes

So, I was banned for 14 days due to my unsportsmanlike conduct. However, I feel that this was way too big of a punishment given what was said and what went on that game. My jungler starts the game off by putting me on tilt, flames me first, and then stays in my lane and starts farming my lane while I'm still able to hold it on my own. So I flame him in two messages, and it wasn't anything out of the ordinary flame that goes in on league. I also want to put this out there, I really dislike how are automated, there is no way a Riot employee had read what happened in that game. I do understand that I should be punished for what I said, but I think a 14 day ban is way too extreme

Let me help you out with what was wrong with your first post.

"My jungler.....

Your very first thing you do when describing the game is to blame another person for YOUR behavior. No one forced you to tilt. No one forced you to type anything into the computer.

You made ever decision. You are to blame

Deserved. Move along folks.

And again, I don't deserve to get off the hook as I did call him a %%%. But a 14 day ban for my first ever offence?

You used hate speech which you admit to knowing is unacceptable. Riot takes an extremely strong stance against any forms of hate speech (racist, sexist, homophobic) or telling others to kill themselves. You shouldn't need a "warning" chat restriction to know it's unacceptable - hence why you skip directly to 14 day ban.

welcome to league or legends

Riot should literally just do Permanent Chat restrictions on players instead of banning them.

The ban system is so sensitive now, that it is ridiculous. And it truly does look like it promotes banning just to force new accounts.

If you don't post your chat logs we cannot help you. There is no way of knowing for certain what was said or judging if you were actually not in the wrong.

Depending on what was said in-game your ban may have been unjust or possibly more than just.

Also please keep in mind that if you received a 14-day ban recently then you are treated like someone on probation. Any negative behavior at all, even more minor stuff, can result in escalation to the final tier of punishment.

I'm disappointed at the lack of Oprah gifs.

If they flame you, report them. If you flame back, they can report you as well. And either you said trigger words or got chat banned before.

First of all post your chat logs, while you might be a trustworthy player history tells us that we shouldn't take your word that you weren't bad.

Second of all did you have chat restrictions prior to this?

If you feel you were wrongfully punished, then post your chat logs.

While you might feel your punishment is unfair, the punishment system works off of severity and frequency. If you've had a 25 game chat restriction, then a 2 week ban was the next step. If you insulted a player with hate speech or told someone to commit suicide, then you're usually given a 2 week punishment regardless of your history.

Did you call him a derogatory term for homosexual or did you tell him to commit suicide? Which one?
