Appeal button?

I know that it is a very inconsiderate thing to drop out in the middle of a game and agree that players should be punished for it. However, I have played games where my computer had crashed or my client stopped working, things totally not my fault, and gotten 5 20 min bans when playing a ranked game, EVEN THOUGH I got back in the game about 5 min later, caught back up and won the game with everybody in good spirit. Could you add a grace option for players that have that situation by adding a system that will indicate when a player gets a leaver buster of some sort, allowing the players of that game to appeal the leaver buster, and granted that the majority of the players agree, lest that person is one that is being reported by multiple players in that game.

You have to leave a relatively large number of games to get flagged by LeaverBuster. If you want to avoid running afoul of LeaverBuster, you need to do everything in your power to avoid disconnects. If your ISP is unreliable, you need to get a new one. If your computer is crashing or the client is not working properly, you need to get those issues fixed before you queue up again. If you think you're doing everything right but still get disconnects, contact customer support.

Basically, if the problem is big enough that LeaverBuster is punishing you, you should be aware of it, and you shouldn't be queueing for matchmade games until the problem(s) are resolved.

Hope this helps!

People that intentionally leave would just lie about it. If the client is unable to tell whether you forced it to crash/close or disconnected on purpose or not, then there's no reason to make exceptions.
