Using Reports as a threat to other players

It seems to me that there is a growing trend for players trying to use reports as a threat, rather than the intended purpose of cleaning up the game. This behavior even begins in selection que. I have witnessed several attempts to cut deals on reporting players between players on different teams, in the FIRST TWO MINUTES OF A GAME! This must stop. Otherwise, the integrity of the reporting system is lost. I have had my share of rants, rages, and tilts in the past. I have been warned once under the reporting system. I deserved that report.

Now, it is way too common to see players report, and ask for help reporting when they are the most offensive player in the game. I am not referring to poor play either. Several times, when I have asked for the reporters reasons, they offer none. Sometimes they claim the loss of a game was my fault, or someone else. I have taken the time to point out that in this game there is a winner and a loser. Losing a game, in and of itself, is no reason to report. How about taking the attitude that someone, or some team just outplayed you. Must there be a report issued after every loss. In my opinion, that is the lowest form of being a poor sport, the in ability to say gg, or well played, without seeking blame.

Maybe something could be done to reduce this (educating players about it), but for now know that threatening with or lobbying to mass report is itself considered harassment and is a punishable offense. False reports will not do anything but lower the report value of the one who made it, so they can be safely ignored and you can report for it.

Whenever I see someone on the enemy team raging in all-chat and demanding reports for one of their teammates, I put on my best cheeky librarian tone and politely state "The repeated requests for reports against another player is deemed harassment by Riot, is a violation of the code of conduct and is in fact a reportable offense." And then I go back to whatever I was doing at the time.

I hate seeing people get ganged up on, if it seems to be genuinely unwarranted. Like when someone is losing lane, and someone is raging because they had a bad game. If I see them harassing and raging, I will report that rager, whether its my team or the enemy team. And omfg I better not catch the enemy adc raging against their support. Us supports have to stick together!
