Why is this okay?

I am thinking about quitting league.

I just left a ranked game with a Shyvanna player that BM'ed me grievously. He engaged in the use of language such as "dumb ass" and "go fuck yourself" without any just cause. Shyvanna went into enemy jgl, i pinged the MIA mid immediately, yet Shyv did not back off and died to them converging on her; I was too low to follow without getting one shot from a bush.

I was carrying either way. After the harassment began (and proceeded into all chat), i no longer wanted to carry anymore. i didnt not feel like playing. this use of language was further supported by a Trynd player. The trynd proceeded to call me a "privileged sensitive bitch".

I was triggered. I do not feel it is appropriate to share my personal information on the internet but i was the victim of a long term sexually and verbally abusive situation in my childhood.

I am still triggered.

Use of that language had no purpose in that game. it had no purpose in league. I do not understand how behavior like this is acceptable by anyone. I was hoping to make it to gold before the season ended; i do not think i will be playing again anytime soon.

Riot, that wasn't toxic; it was triggering. It is enabling to dismiss that with a warning. I felt myself wanting to cry during the game.

The profound shock of it continuing in all chat made me want to D/C. i felt bad for the bot lane i was playing with. but engaging teammates in such a way is unhealthy.

No one deserves to be treated in such a way. it happening on the internet does not give anyone the excuse. real friends are made here. real feelings are hurt.

EDIT: Reposting the blog because i do not know why it was taken down. I took the names out (against my better judgment -- destructively harmful/negative behavior should always be ostracized), and took cuss words out of the title.

A moderator suggested i report the players. that is all. sigh. Why can we not reply to the messages they send us?

is it even possible to report anyone outside of the end of game window? I would like to do that, if possible.

You're right, but we have the tools to deal with verbal abuse. If someone is being a jerk like that, simply mute them. They obviously don't want to use chat for anything useful, or are at least doing more harm than good, so they can just rely on pings to communicate. When the game is over you can report them, and a report for this kind of behavior is certainly a punishable offense, so if they do this frequently and are consistently reported they will get their punishment so that you can help prevent other players from dealing with it.

Basically, don't hesitate to mute them, and report if you feel it necessary.

As for calling them out on the boards, starting a witch hunt does not solve the problem, it just creates drama. Leave it to Riot to handle these players. We can sympathize with your situation and give advice, but that's it.

I'm sorry you had to deal with scum like that. Those who think they can trash-talk people because they think they're "tough" or get mad are everywhere.

Welcome to league. If your skin is this thing, i suggest you play difficult subscription MMOs, as they tend to be relatively scum-free.

..Sadly, those dont exist anymore.

I dont want to sound rude, but topic like this is just making my head shake. In what way do you think everyone thinks this is ok? There are some people who are horrible and act like this TC. Just like in real life. No one should be having this happen to them, but it is near impossible to stop. Let alone the fact that normal people do not find what you had encounter as "Ok". it would be like saying since people steal and dont get caught means everyone is ok with stealing. its wrong.

All in all just as everyone said in the replies, just mute the person and report them if its that bad. it will get them punished, maybe not right then and there. But as long as they continue they will get caught. This has never and will never be an acceptable behavior, so as someone who is passionate it would be wise not to group us with people who break the rules.

In all honesty its why I now avoid rank and some of my friends want me to supp them. People are being to toxic and they have no right to be. Its a game. and you or someone else maybe having a bad game. If they are that bad ALWAYS ALWAYS submit a ticket. Alot of what people say in chat Riot wont stand for. Like MissFortune says fortune doesn't favour fools. Or toxic people. Oh and take screen shots when you can to attach to the ticket

Why is it okay for people to leave games? I don't know. Don't be scum, be better than them.
