Smurfs in Low Elo

I'm silver rank, I don't play the game religiously but it makes up a solid chunk of my freetime and I WANT to get better. But I've ran into an epidemic. Level 30, level 31 accounts, normally a top laner or jungler that for some reason play like a seasoned pro at this game. When on my team, it's entertaining enough but upsetting. On the enemy team it's just downright angering. I have ran into so many smurfs and I've finally had enough as a level 30 account Renek just tore apart my entire team in my Silver III promos. This is ridiculous. Are smurfs reportable? Can I do anything against this? Or is RIOT just rolling over and deciding "Meh! Who cares about our new and low tier playerbase!" Because I'm angry and I don't know what to do besides post this and pray that someday something can be done.

can you think of a plausible solution, or are you just asking them to "do something"?

I used to be a hardstuck silver player and had the same complaints -- there's too many new player who are just beyond garbage starting ranked here and it is also unavoidable for a smurf to play through this elo if he wants another account.

I recently requested in a survey by Riot that they make accounts require a SSN like they do in Korea. Then limit each player to like 4-5 accounts max. This would cut down on boosting, banned players endlessly making new accounts, and so many smurfs in low elo.

I mean in the long run the smurfs and boosters arent limiting you because if you deserve to rank up you eventually will win enough to do it. There arent smurfs in every game and sometimes they are on your team as well. But it is frustrating to play with unevenly matched teams. It's actually a worse problem around low diamond and high plat btw.

Meh... cant be sure it was some high level smurf. Ive crushed silver/bronze games as a silver, going 23-5 anivia, or 17-1 urgot before. Renekton is a strong ass champ like urgot, so he's very capable of tearing through teams with silver-level mechanics. Just a matter of getting fed off of slightly worse bronzes/silvers. The skill level disparity in low elo is pretty big between players of near-equal mmr. Also, he couldve just been a normally-gold player who hasnt climbed yet, and is queuing with a bronze friend.
