Please Disable Normal Blind Pick and add a Normal Quick Match

I am tired of players instalocking and trolling if they do not get what they want. Why do you insist on having a queue type that promotes bad behaviour? If people ask nicely, I tend to give them my desired role (support) unless I am premade and we want to play a certain composition. My problem is that there is no real punishment for players who instalock, nor is there a way to display that one called positions first because of the difference in server latency, which results in calls showing up differently on different screens. This results in so much trolling and quarreling that I am having less fun in LoL at the moment.

Draft Pick takes too much time. I might as well play ranked, but then there is less room for fun experimentation.

I suggest a new queue type called Normal Quick Match where the rules are as follows:

  • Players pick their roles, champions, masteries and runes, then join the queue
  • They are matched with players who fill the other positions and who have pre-selected different champions
  • You get 20 seconds to trade champions and change your loadout
  • You cannot select the champion another player has pre-selected, but you can trade
  • You are allowed to trade several times within the 20 seconds

This queue can be improved further by adding small IP bonuses to players who do not get reported after X matches, which can grow over time. Getting reported, if the report results in punishment, results in a full bonus loss. Players can get the bonus back, but start from scratch.

The idea is to get rid of instalocking and the calling phase, where it can be hard to discern who actually called the respective roles.

I have never had to wait that long in Heroes of the Storm, despite Quick Match being structured like the old Team Builder. Draft Queue is not something I want, as it takes too much time with the picks and bans, and I have found the amount of leavers in Draft to be extreme. I hate when people leave after picks and bans. I have had to deal with that four times in a row... It is not something I enjoy.

Play Draft then and stop complaining.

That used to be a thing, and queue times were atrocious. There's a reason it doesn't exist anymore

As much as I do miss Team Builder, I will say that the queue times were sometimes quite ridiculous for it. You would often run into the problem of people wanting to have the "perfect team" where the person that created it would cycle through MANY people while they waited. This was compounded by individuals that would want to run off-meta things (such as Teemo Jungle) and have people accept the queue and then immediately leave after seeing the off-meta pick, and was absolutely volatile for those that just wanted a quick game. You would often have the leader of the group who originally was totally cool with Teemo Jungle kick them after sitting and waiting for 15 minutes while 10 players dodged from seeing it, resulting in now finding ANOTHER player to fill that role. Half the time it wasn't even Supports that were difficult to find. We would also end up with everyone queued up as Rengar Support and other various picks to attempt to get a better queue time while they go into game building Full AD without a Sightstone or any useful Support items - essentially playing the game on their own. Even then it was hard to find a team, as you would have to wait 3 minutes to find someone, wait 3 minutes while they sat in queue with you, and then have them leave anyways to try and find an already full team. Usually we'd end up putting "Bot Lane Any Role" (or whatever the category was) instead of "Bot Lane Marksman" just to have a better chance of finding someone.

Also, we would then have to sit in the queue after FINALLY finding a group and hope that there was someone else in queue around the same MMR as us. Usually this wasn't a problem, but we would have the occasional leavers during the queue, and if that player was a Support or another role that's typically difficult to find, half the group would normally leave after that to try and get into a full party.

On-topic: I do feel that there are improvements that could be made for Blind Pick as role-stealing is very common and sucks sometimes, and the general consensus of "Pick Order > Preference" is half the time overlooked. You'll call Jungle in the chat first and having the top position, lock in Lee Sin (or whatever you want), and at 5 seconds left the last guy will call "jg" and insta-lock Kha'Zix, leaving the team in a VERY awkward position of: "Who goes where now? Are we running double smite/double jungle? Should I dodge? There's 3 seconds left do I need to be the bigger person and go ADC Lee Sin? How is that going to work out for me? Am I going to have a miserable time now? I didn't set up my Runes and Masteries for this, am I screwed now?"

So... how exactly is this going to be a shorter que than draft? Unless I am misunderstanding, possible, you would need people to que up as a support still. Which is why auto fill exists. Unless with your design it doesn't matter so long as each team has x champions match via position/role (Mage, marskmen, etc...). Also by trade do you mean with the other players on your team or can I trade within my pool as well? If the latter, then why can't I just pick a supp champ for quicker search and then switch to an assassin with no cc (Asides Death being the strongest cc)

I feel I either read something wrong or the comments are weighing in on my thoughts.
