Toxicity isn’t just a problem in League

Overwatch Development Has Been Slowed Due To Need To Address "Rising Tide Of Toxicity"

Just an article that proves that toxicity isn’t just a problem in League.

Note that Blizzard is basically handling it the same way Riot is. People always talk about how "other games are better because they are different". I postulate that all games are toxic, and there’s not much difference in levels, just in the way it’s handled. No system is perfect, but each works for the games that use it generally.

EDIT: I’ll also add that yes, I do think Riot staff needs more praise for their job in trying to reduce toxicity. Especially since they’re doing a decent enough job while still updating our game, and don’t have to slow their development like Blizzard does.

Thoughts anyone?

I agree, all games are toxic. But with most other genres, one person's toxicity doesn't impact the entire game. For example:

WoW 40/25-man raids - 1 or even 2 bad players don't make or break the entire raid CSGO - 4 players can still hard carry a bad 5th player PUBG - 2v2 and 4v4, You can still fight for your life and win, it's just harder. But you can still headshot everyone.

LoL - 1 trolling player = "Why the F* am I even playing this out?"

wrong. its much worse in league because your own game depends more on your teammates than any other game. plus you cant leave if you are having a bad time.

its like if you were playign CoD but every time one of your teammates dies your enemies bullets do extra damage to you. then throw in a rule where you cant leave the game until its over and make the games last 30+ mins. it would be a much more toxic game.

Praise? When is the last time to heard of someone destroying someone elses game by AFKing constantly and getting punished for it in LoL? EVER?

In other games when you are a troll and ruin games constantly there is actual consequences, in LoL there is nothing.

If the person does not curse, or int, or be racist, they have basically a free ride here to ruin any game they wish too.

League does not care, if you think they do wait until you get the same people OVER AND OVER who afk or leave and never see them banned.

People who give companys like this money are the problem since it doesn't encourage them to try to fix things, so congrats, you are the reason its broke to begin with.

Never had any issue in heroes of the storm like league has . I know how to fix leagues toxicity but sadly they won't read it and people will down vote . So here it goes 1 get rid of autofill and bring back ranked draft like blind pick that's more fair less issues because everyone is forced to do things and have a wider champ pool, people will choose supp not 96% of the time get autofilled into supp. 2 get rid of mastery emotes and dancing laughing joking on champs because that creates toxcicty and as of right now riot approves of it. 3 just make everyone have chat restriction because hey no one can type hardly and bam issue solved .

Toxicity is a problem is many games. I think because League of Legends is so popular, people exaggerate how toxic League is compared to other games. i think all competitive games are toxic because when people are too competitive and don't have self control, they are dicks to people in the game. whether it's a poor performing teammate or an enemy that they're trying to tilt, they're just dicks to people in the game.

yes i have a thought when someone reaches out to you and expects you to do something about toxic bullying. dont side with the attackers especially when you have no clue what the attackers said or did. and dont tell someone what the attackers did and did not do and say at the same time you say you have no clue what they did or did not do.
