Hi, I was recently banned from playing League of Legends for being toxic. I think I deserve to be unbanned because I don't have a history of being toxic to other players, and if you look in the past of my chat, you would see I am usually very nice. The reason I was acting rude in this game was because I was unhappy that I didn't get my role because someone called it out for him, and in turn made me not try to win at all and act negatively to my team. Putting a 2 week ban seems excessive considering I have had no warnings prior to this ban. Also, if this helps my report at all, the next game I played was a 1v1 with one of the players on my team from last game, and I apologized for being rude to him.

Ban appeal? well okay, let's see if such a thing is reasonable in this particular case, after all even Riot can sometimes makes mistakes;

So there's a scaling punishment system in place right now. Normally, players who are punished climb from tier to tier up the ladder, which looks like this:

  • 10-game chat restriction
  • 25-game chat restriction
  • 14-day time ban
  • perma-ban

However, some specific behaviors can warrant an "escalation" of punishment - essentially skipping rungs on the ladder. Almost all forms of non-verbal toxicity (except AFKs - they're handled by a different system entirely) automatically warrant a 14-day ban, for example. Additionally, some forms of verbal toxicity (specifically: death threats, hate speech, and other forms of "extreme" toxicity) can also escalate a punishment.

Even though I was, next game I stopped being toxic and apologized to one of the people in my last game, I would have apologized to everyone but it was a 1v1

That doesn't matter. Here, let me use an example: A man is an upstanding citizen. He is somewhat unknown, but people like him. Then one day he burns down someone's house on purpose, with evidence. He gets sent to jail. The man whines "But I was good for so long!" No one cares.

It was an example. Imagine the house like the game, and the fire as your words. The people used a fire extinguisher to try to put it out (mute button) but that didn't stop the fire. The damage was done, so they found the person responsible.

The game has nothing to do with a house, and your analogy makes no sense. This is an online game, a house is real.

As I said, there are some behaviors that can cause the system to "skip" rungs on the ladder. Among those are things like Intentional Feeding (scores like 1/21/4 and 2/11/1 are pretty strong base indicators, though Riot has far more data available than we do) and certain forms of verbal toxicity (such as hate speech, which includes racist, sexist, and homophobic language, and may include able-ist language as well).

Engaging in such behaviors (such as feeding or calling players "autistic") can and often will cause you to be skipped straight to a 14-day ban for even your first punishment.

Pretty sure that you get a chat ban for first offense of toxic behavior in chat, and I don't think one word can skip 2 tiers. Same thing goes for intentional feeding, you might get a ban if you do it for the first time, but it wouldn't be a 14 day ban.

That's normally true, yes. Specifically, first punishments are normally a 10-game chat restriction. Some phrases, however, are considered to be "extreme toxicity," and those words and phrases can warrant an escalated punishment.

Same thing goes for intentional feeding, you might get a ban if you do it for the first time, but it wouldn't be a 14 day ban.

There are only two tiers of bans issued for any form of toxicity (verbal or non-verbal): 14-day and permanent.

op look at this. it looks like you would be reported for non-verbal which can apparently mean instant jump to the 2 week ban. just don't do it again cause perma-ban is next.

Seems that you should have said that you deserved to have a 2nd chance when you received your chat restrictions & 14 days suspension. Now you paid for it for not reforming.

I was never told to reform, this has been the first time I have even gotten a personal message from riot for being toxic.

one thing to note for you; a 14 day ban is your "last warning". your next punishment is a permaban, and you won't be able to get your account back.

If you don't rage & get reported for 3 months, you'll drop a tier and won't be permabanned next punishment (instead, it'll be a 14-day ban again). Keep up the good act for 9 months and your account will be clean.

Asking for reports is considered harassment by RIOT, on top of the other negative behaviors in that chatlog. It's certainly enough to get a ban if you've had bans/restrictions before, so no. No appeal for you.

I have never been banned on my account before (except for queue dodging, and I only do that when I have to.)

It's the email that you got those chat logs from. There's often a link you can post so we can publicly see the entire log and any other info. If you didn't get one, you'll need to fill out a support ticket, as we can't help you more on the forums.

If you are sure you've never had a chat restrict, then I would fill out a ticket to player support and ask NICELY for clarification on why you were immediately escalated to a 14-day ban. There may be other games that they just didn't display the chat log for. I'm on the fence about whether using "Autistic" as an insult should result in a punishment skip, but it's definitely unacceptable, as is asking for reports and calling people bad, so while a punishment is definitely deserved, I don't know if skipping tiers is (assuming you're telling the truth about your history).
