"It's JUST Bronze, who cares?"

"It's JUST Bronze, who cares?"

Was said to me, in champ select by an Jungle Ahri, when questioned why they would pick that champ to jungle, and then went 5-13 , the player did the same the next game but was thankfully on the other team.

So let me answer.

While I am by far NOT the best player, I usually can win my lane, gank well, support correctly, ward all over and most games I do not have a bad score. Yet because of people like that Ahri, and many many others, you simply cannot climb out of Bronze.

I actually quit for the entire season, last season. Before that I had been placed in Silver 5 my first season, got knocked down...then each other time, my prelims would go badly and I started in B5 or B4 each time. I got up to B3 only to be knocked down again and again, just in one season, by the mis play or plain idiocy of my teammates.

This season my prelims were 2-8 and I had 1 bad game, the rest of the time I did fairly well, at least to earn B , A, or S on my champs. But when your teammates earn D's or F's.....its kind of hard to win.

So back to the answer.....I CARE, and many others CARE, we are trying our best to get out of Bronze 5 or what have you. We watch LCS to see what the pro's do, we read boards like this to get ideas , we learn our champs before going to ranked so we don't play badly on them, we read guides on what to build, what masteries and runes work best.

But no one person can do this when two or more of your teammates are going 2-13 or in one case 5-20, not doing their jobs.....IE warding, Pinging, or actually getting support or tank Items on the appropriate champion.

So please, myself and many others beg of you....if you DON'T care....DON'T play Ranked....go play normal and do AP YI, or Tryndamere, or Jungle Ahri...or mid Nasus....do your thing....but please, please, stop messing it up for those of us who are trying to get better and move up.

I know im going to get flamed, i know people are going to QQ get better NOOOB......but as the saying goes, It's hard to soar with eagles, when your surrounded by turkeys. 90% of the LoL game players are Bronze or Silver ranked. It effects a lot of people, when others just do not care.

TLDR stop playing ranked if your going to be an ass.

Thanks!

Your teammates have nothing to do with why you're Bronze. This game is largely decided by gold advantage- whoever has more gold has a significantly easier time winning. How do you get a gold advantage? Last hit, always focus on getting towers first, and don't die.

What about if you're support? Inhibit the enemy bot lane from last hitting, keep map awareness up, ping liberally to help your team not die, and don't die yourself. Try to make things happen, but remember towers>kills.

Edit: Last bit of clarification here. If you do well, it's going to help your team do well. Sometimes it's just doomed from the get-go, but it's your job to positively influence games that can go either way.

Obviously jungle Ahri is a troll pick. She just doesn't have the clear speed or the defense to jungle. Yes, her ganks are ridiculous if she lands her charm, but I'm not sure she actually CAN jungle -- i.e., she can clear gromp with a leash, get to level 2, and solo blue camp. I don't know if it can be done.

But where do you draw the line? Does someone who mains an off-meta pick have to play 100% perfect constantly for fear of being banned? I main off-meta support picks. I have 152k mastery points on support Lux and climbed from B3 to S1 and had a best-of-5 promo series to reach G5 by playing practically all support Lux (I've been on a losing streak lately and dropped back into S2 since).

If I have bad games on support Lux, should I be banned? What if I take Lissandra bot lane as support? How about Shen or Malphite or Maokai? Should I get banned if I do poorly on those champions?

I'm really bad at this game and I had no problem climbing out of Bronze with a 73% winrate on an off meta support.

If you have any trouble at all in Bronze you belong there and you shouldn't stress about it, Silver will happen as long as you learn how to cs and not die.

Do yourself a favor and stop watching LCS or pro players because you're not them nor will you encounter the same type of play style.

Sadly, if you're at the lowest tier, you're going to deal with those who are at the lowest tier. You can't decide for them what they should play or how they should build. You simply can't.

You bring up the score as if it's relevant. Have you never gone 5-13 with a champ you consider "meta"? Or even 0-6? 0-10? Are you excused now because you played a champion that is considered "good" in the LCS scene? Sadly, in reality, you're not. If you think otherwise, you should question that.

I agree, don't play ranked if you're not serious. Off meta picks are fine in my opinion, but don't play stuff you're not confident with. Had an enemy AurelionSol who gave up first blood to our mid lane in the first wave and kept feeding the rest of our team (not on purpose, but wasn't skilled with that champ). Bad games happen, but people should fully familiarize themselves with the champs and roles they want to rank with in norms before going ranked.
