Reporting worth it?

I feel like if someone tilts and starts inting and i report, nothing will ever happen. Is it even worth my time to report someone? It feels like the entire team has to report that player just to get him punished for his behavior. Since everyone just goes to the next game as soon as possible, reporting seems like a waste of time. Isn't there a better way to punish players that intentionally feed or flames all game long or is this the new norm for league? Is all that stuff about improving the players experience in a positive manner just straight bullshit? What are the actual numbers needed to punish a toxic player?

We don't know the exact numbers for issuing a punishment. Partially because it'll vary case-to-case.

But I can say reporting is definitely effective. Just spend a few minutes browsing this section and you'll see many threads that essentially confirm the system works.

But generally, don't expect them to take action on an account after a single game. Getting the pop-up that says somebody you recently reported got punished is pretty rare, but you don't get a pop-up every time somebody you reported gets punished. Every single report sent is analyzed by the system. If it finds the report to be accurate, the account is flagged for that game. If they get flagged several times over a short period, they receive a punishment.

Also, Riot has talked about working on other ways to give players feedback about the reports they submit. They would still be in the process of figuring out what approach to take, and it may take quite some time for them to develop, test, and launch such a feature, but it is on their radar.

There's plenty of evidence it takes 50-70 games before a ban.

They've done nothing to implement tribunal or improve feeder detection in over 18 months. They will also really only be working on client bugs for the next 6 months so, if your hoping for something to be done this year, keep dreaming.

You don't lose anything for doing it and it only takes a few clicks, so I don't see why anyone would view it as being "not worth it".

I've occasionally gotten those little popup messages from Riot saying "Thanks for the assist" for reporting blatantly toxic players, but I am not entirely sure how well the report system works? I think its most effective when the player is in /all screaming obscenities and HONESTLY that isn't the only kind of behavior Riot should be punishing.... Like you shouldn't have to be that toxic to actually get noticed lol

I don't know, there should be more options for reporting like, intentionally throwing games, especially in ranked, when there is 0 communication... And a system so that the toxic people play with other toxic people, cause it's not fair for other players having to stand that kind of behavior
