People who report disconnects

Just had a game with a dc, who came back (albeit 10 minutes later). Our mid laner (the dc) said that his computer crashed and he had to reboot. Shitty, but whatever, I get that it wasn't his intention to leave the game. My entire team, and 2 people on the other team, report him after the game. They said "he left the game, doesn't matter if he just disconnected its ranked so he deserves to be banned" and I just don't get it. What are your thoughts? Should dcing in ranked be a reportable and bannable "offence", or are they just a bunch of whiny pricks?

Only worth to report for afk If the person admits not wanting to play the game or shows evidence of "rage quit".

Otherwise, not worth the report.

Once read a story about a guy with serious internet issues that couldn't play the game for 30 minutes. when he came back, his entire enemy team was happy, helped him back on his feet and helped him win the game. now THAT's Sportmanship!

If they are truly sorry and actually come back and try to play the game then I don't care, its worse if they don't try and just go afk the entire game.

I never report afk's since leaverbuster pretty much takes care of people who deserve it. I do believe that if you go multiple games in a row having your computer crash, you should get the idea that maybe you should upgrade your computer or fix something before going straight into ranked.

Tldr; They are justified for reporting, but who cares lol

The system will detect that someone was gone even if no one reports him, I think. You should save the reports for if someone is subverting the AFK system.

reporting afks is like reporting "unskilled" it does nothing. the leavebuster deals with afks. the afk option is just there so that ppl dont think leaving is now ok

I report every leave regardless of what I think happened and let the system handle them. If it was a rare occurrence then nothing is going to happen to them. If it isn't uncommon then he has an issue that needs to be fixed. Someone having constant connection or PC issues is a huge problem.
