I know you should stop playing when tilted, but how do you avoid tilting in the first place?

I get that if you're tilted, stop playing for a while. But how do you prevent tilting in the first place. If I want to go play ranked, I have to be at my best or I lose, and just be a liability to my team.

Not your fault. You are just going to deal with Riots crappy matchmaking algorithm that places you in a losing team before the game even start. Happens usually after you hit a winning streak.

i dont know your age... but have you ever played poker?

there is a lot of psychological things a poker player does to not tilt with the swings of a hand, a game, or tournament. alot of is leaving your emotion behind and playing with calculated logical decisions. when you play on emotions you tend to act rash and dont make great judgement.

that can translate to league... dont play if you are upset, tired, mad, depressed whatever if you want to avoid tilt. and if you are playing leave that when you hit QUEUE for a game. its gone. and from there everything you do in game should be made with a calm ,logical , calculated mindset.

things arent gonna go your way all the time. its how you react when they do...

and another thing with poker is what they call poker face/ stone face dont let your inner highs and lows show on your face. well with league in your game/play or chat to the enemy. dont give any tells, dont give anything away...

alot of things in league are determined by level, experience, items, #s advantage in a fight... cooldowns, and positioning in lane and in fights. similar to poker things are determined by table appearance, are you a tight player , loose, aggressive, passive. what position you are in the hand... chip count/size , pot size, pot odds. are you vs 1 as in heads up or multiple players in a hand. do you have a tell on a player like you picked up how they play with a strong hand in early position , how do they play if they are weak. what tells have you given indirectly (not knowing) or on purpose to make someone call/fold react a certain way due to your actions at that moment.

so as you can see the mindsets can easily transfer from one game to another... its learning this and knowing the psychology behind it that will benefit you alot from not tilting.

Wisdom. Patience. Determination. Compassion.

I prefer those, but there are certainly other ways.

You just have to accept the fact that some people on your team are just horrible at the game. 25% of the games you will play are basically unwinnable.

Don't be afraid to dodge games if someone is being toxic or stupid in champ select.

The mute function is your friend, don't hesitate to mute someone who is toxic or negative.

Simple control your own emotions or seek professional help if you can't control them.

the way i see it, people get too defensive about everything which escalates into arguments. If people say you're trash or you should have done that or whatever else, just reply with like yeah mb, ok, etc. or you can always mute but personally i never had to mute anyone because i can keep calm about everything

if you're tilted about losing then take a break, nap, work out, etc relieve some stress

Mute all helps alot, u don't get to see your allies talk s*it when something happens. I can't even stand 1 sentence of toxicity from my teammates because it triggers me easily.

Worry about what you can do to improve rather than what your team did wrong. That's literally it

Stop hitting the pinball machine.

I usually mute the enemy team as soon as I jump straight into a game. Team mates that seem problematic? (Any form of ping spamming that isnt helpful, red flags that they may be a tilting threat based on language) mute them.

As far as the game goes if a legit glitch happens laugh over it, rewatch it later. If you die and get mad understand you can't get out of it all or that you got outplayed. Beyond that I don't have much advice to give - rewatch games for mistakes to see if that eases tilt after the fact perhaps.

It just depends on how you are. Some of us listen to calming music while playing and muting everyone else. Others play their Mains in the next few games. Others wait an hour or so until they play another game. Another way is to spam some Arams since most never take that game mode seriously.

instead on focus on winning, give yourself small gameplay goals and target to achieve them. Things like 80 CS@10 while trading, looking at the mini map every 3 seconds, jungler CS count tracking, and then converting all of those advantages to mid / late game.

When you play to improve, you get less stress out at others. You'll also get less stress out about loosing.
