Increased Dodging in new Solo Queue

I don't know if it's the player demographic, or what but my first experiences with the new system have become very mixed due to a high rate of dodging players. On at least a few occasions in just one day I've spent half an hour or more actually getting into a game.

There hasn't been much squabbling or anything like that, but a good amount of having all the process play itself out and then at the last second or in the range of the final count down, a dodge occurs.

Dodges also occur much earlier in the process and a fair amount in the initial count down approaching the first lobby. I can only request that if this does trend would RIOT please consider an increase on the time-out penalties for dodging?

Try playing ARAM.

The reason why is because people are Alt-Tabbing out of the client during the draft while waiting for other people to pick, and the overactive AFKbuster kicks them.

I've seen more dodging. Or maybe it just feels worse because the new system takes a LONG time to get a game going. I wouldn't mind that long time, "IF" people didn't dodge after 10 minutes of banning and picking.

I personally feel that the new system is great, but would possibly like to see a more steep penalty for dodging it. Since it wastes a lot more of peoples time when you dodge, you should have a LOT more of your time taken away also. Maybe make the penalty 3-4x more before you can queue than it currently is for dodging the new system.

I have just finished my 7th queue and still am not in a game and have spent the last 30 minutes trying to get into a game. Ranked, non ranked it does not seem to matter....this new pick mode is just broken...good job Riot as usual.

I'm just tired of all the fucking trolls. Can't even remember how many times I had an "AP Sona Marksmen" go ADC forcing me to dodge...

Yeah there is a learning curve with the new timers, and i didn't know about the alt tab issue, although I may have experienced it once and didn't realize it. I was clicking on the "ready" button for the match to set up and for some reason it instantly switched to not ready as if I had maybe clicked the much smaller button, which I did not do.

I suspected a bug as a culprit and the learning curve with the timers (I learned my lesson once early on, and I had read the instructions, it was just a sort of habitual mistake).

Thanks sirPTFXXIV and iHerring(sp?) for the comments, and I think Jewish's comment better words my reflection on the situation. As it is RIOT is probably working on the buggy aspect of things right now since the dynamic queue is down sad face right now.

I'm not really sure the process takes longer than the previous draft to be honest. Again I think as people get more conditioned to the process it'll be waaay shorter than the previous mode on average.

So all in all, Hear Hear for increased dodge time out timers, as it may be debatable as to any increased time wasting, but there is certainly less excuse to be dodging on purpose.

Let them dodge. The system punishes them for it with an escalating queue timer.

Honestly I think its more for the troll factor. Now that everyone gets to see who you want to be before you ban, if you want to be a jerk, you ban their champions. Eventually people get pissed and dodge. or if they get a secondary roll instead of the first that seems to do it.

Also, most of the dodges (aside from above) are purely accidental. My friend first time didn't know hovering counted as a dodge now. Its just community adjustment as well.

I agree it was noticeable. My first time it took me a good 15 minutes to get a match because of all the dodges.

But it still beats waiting in team builder for an hour to get the role you want
