I would like to draw attention to the report system
I will absolutely refuse to believe it is controlled by anything smarter than a potato battery as it is so inefficient and worthless that the function of it may as well not exist. I've had too many cases such as these where there is never action that is taken on the people who need action upon, yet some get banned for a report that says "toxic noob inted top". Yes this on PBE but that's not the point. Let's begin.
In the picture above we see champion select, a great and wild ride, and in the chat we can see a problem.. A player has said "im going top." and instantly locks a top lane prone champion (note that it was said in plain English). Well now we have an issue, someone has stolen top and the ACTUAL top lane assigned player may not be able to play support. What happens next? Naturally people start saying "report the Darius then lol" <--- as seen there.
"OK then, well, hopefully they aren't a huge jerk in game and our EX-top can support good." I would've liked for that to have been true but unfortunately, it was the opposite.
I'm sure we've all met this type of player, we see them everyday. Holds champion select hostage, gets in game only to fail hard, yeah yeah yeah. Well I'm going to describe them anyway: We've just now loaded into the game and the first thing I said in /all was "The Darius stole top lane, just saying." and then the usual happened, people said to report him blah blah blah. He goes top, I go mid, the ADC and support head bot, and the jungler dashes to blue and requests a leash but Darius does not move. The jungler pings and pings and pings (my ears hurt) until the Darius says something in what I assume is broken Spanish along the lines of "I don't English." Great start so far, being a troll and lying about not being able to speak English after stealing the lane. I go over to leash because he clearly won't and this is where it really started. The enemy top lane, Heimerdinger, bug splatted at this point which everyone was all cool about and stuff, PBE is very 'oof'-y. Instead of like, grasping this moment to push lane, Darius comes mid and starts to take CS which is followed by "thx for cs:F|". It was clear to me from the start that this was gonna be a bad game but this was just wrong. I said calmly to leave my lane because Heimerdinger had returned at this point and was at tower. Darius backed and just came mid again this time saying he was going to feed mid. He died once to tower and once to the Xerath then disconnected. Typical trolled game. TL;DR The Darius trolled, fed and left.
After the game (we won somehow) I did a report for nearly sabotaging the game and leaving but then I realized. Is it even worth it? Is it worth the effort to even report someone or make posts like these? I'm starting to think not.
If the reports system is handled by automated means then, well, I shouldn't need to explain where the problem is. But if it's actually handled manually then... why does it have 0 function?!? I'm starting to think there isn't even a single person who's job is to handle this system anymore, which makes the tribunal, even in it's flaws, MUCH better. If there IS someone behind it then are they just being lazy?? From experience I have seen that only the small reports like "fed pls ban" actually get something done and the longer ones, which I usually type, get ZERO action. I have reflected on both PBE and live for times my teammates and I all made reports. We've done small short ones which actually got someone punished and we've done long explanatory ones and nothing has ever come out of them. Why? Why must it seem like there is just a single lazy person in a chair sipping Starbucks while sending snaps about "lol just banned someone who said to report the feeder XDD"
Here is the worst part about all this. It happened on the PBE!!! Excuse me if this seems unreasonable but it seems that reports on live get more attention than reports on the PBE and that's very odd considering the PBE is for beta testing new material to make sure it is OK to be put on the live servers. I would think you'd want to be more strict about people who go against the PBE and completely ruin games. I think people who go against the summoners code on the PBE shouldn't just be warned or given a temporary ban, they should be removed from being able to access it at all and on TOP of that giving a warning or punishment onto their main account as well. I can't suggest how you can pull this off, i'm just here saying that it should be looked at.
The system seems flawed, that's that. P.S. Don't tell me that the notifications about action being taken on a report don't show on this client, I've seen them before.
