Just spent 30 minutes getting called a furry %%%

Uhhhh. Title, just spent a whole 30 minutes getting called a "furry fuck", told I need to "die slowly", and called a "dog fucking %%%got" by someone who went afk multiple times, and fed on purpose the rest of the game. Imagine my face when I don't get a message saying the person I reported has been penalized. What the hell riot? I dont care if this guy is an angel and a pillar of the league community the rest of the time. This is the very definition of egregious toxicity.

Edit: I am NOT actually a FURRY. The name is just a joke by one of my friends. I guess I could get a name change. But really? I have to change my name to not be called horrible things?

Why may I ask didn't you /mute all? or at least mute him? I am sure, there are so many times when people complain about getting verbally harassed, But don't take a few seconds to mute that person

Only one person gets the notification that someone has been penalized. That is 1 person out of 3-27 people from 3 games. If multiple people from your game reported him, there is a chance that THEY got the pop up instead of you. Just because you didn't get that popup doesn't mean that nothing happened or will happen.

Yeah, I mean, they shouldn't have said it cause it's against the rules to flame, but everyone knows furries are pretty much the lowest form of life other than Yasuo mains.

God I wish I could see that chat log. Laugh my ass off all day.

stop being a sensitive little snowflake and remember words can't hurt you.

Well, making fun of furries and calling them autistic, freaks of nature, %%%gots, kill them all, etc. etc., is a pretty old tradition on the Internet, so it's understandable in an online video game. Even 4chan, a place where people who look at loli porn (hentai of underage anime girls), actual real life Nazis on /pol/, and psychopaths on /b/, furries are not allowed on 4chan.

Perhaps this person was a first time offender, and was therefore not penalized with anything.

If you yourself are troubled by this, you can always /mute all.

Nice name.
Sorry for your problems with assholes.

Im not traumatized or anything. I just felt like a hostage. We couldnt even surrender the game because he and some other person kept voting no. So I was basically stuck in the game an extra 15 minutes and 20 or so slurs later I cant even defend myself because in riots eyes, if you say anything back, you are part of the problem. Honestly I didnt mute him so that I could know what details to include in the report. Thats kind of stupid, looking back. But it made sense at the time.

Play on words gets played by words all to easily

Is it acceptable for this chain of events to have occurred from another player, no? Is it more likely to happen based on your name, maybe? Is this similiar to dressing x way, being treated x way? Possibly? Should you name change? Thats your call Clearly more than 1 decent person here(i'm not one of them), if you only obtained 1 verbal mockery of your name since owning the name.

Dear christ. Half of you are utterly reprehensible human beings. If I were a moderator reading this thread I would ban quite a few of you based solely on your posts and bigotry.

I mean it sucks but like, people of that mentality are everywhere, particularly in "competitive gaming". Sure most people aren't pros, but they want to become good so they're already stressed about the outcome of games to some degree so people who want to aggravate people for laughs have an easier time making it happen.

Best to just write it off as a mean spirited person, accept it, and move on, can't fix everybody ya know?

EvilDustMan3/28/2017, 8:51:17 PM1 votes

No, those people should not act that way.

But to be honest, if you had a name that was like 'Gay Jailbait', you really should expect some questionable attention.

Change it, it makes me cringe everytime I see it and makes me feel less of you just seeing it.

TyrekGoldenspear3/28/2017, 2:37:26 PM1 votes

That sucks man. People honestly are mean for no reason other than to make themselves feel good.

Your name seems... odd (kinky?), but that's no reason to outright harass a person. Sadly people will latch on to whatever they can to be a jerk. A name like that gives them lots of material unfortunately.

I'm gonna say three things:

  1. Sorry that happened to you. that sounds horrible.

  2. Furries are normal people. I know a couple furries, and they act like any other human. They go to work, they hang out, they look at admittedly pretty cool art. People are just jerks, and latched onto the cringy part of the fandom and said that all furries are horrible.

  3. Furries aren't into that.

DuskDaUmbreon3/28/2017, 2:39:32 PM1 votes

Well. There are two sides to this, and some information...

On one hand, and I know this is kinda victim-blaming, but you did basically put a huge "kick me" sign on your back. It most certainly does NOT excuse their actions in any way, but you did kinda put yourself in a situation that invited what happened..

On the other hand, as I pointed out, his actions were in no way excusable. Besides the name-calling, you pointed out that he intentionally fed and was AFK.

Now, I'd like to point out that, just because it doesn't say he's punished doesn't mean he wasn't. If someone else's report came later, and that's the one Riot actually "attached" the punishment to, only that person will get the notification. I am almost certain that he was punished (likely by an automatic 14 day ban), so don't worry too much!

Makior723/28/2017, 3:24:22 PM1 votes

Well, the name certainly won't do you any favors. Just mute and report after game is your best option.

IraDelDragón3/29/2017, 1:30:48 AM1 votes

I thought this post made sense until I seen your forum name.

Seriously, what do you expect? If you didn't make that name intentionally, stay off the internet for a few years.
