Reported and banned along with troll?

I was in a ranked game as ADC Jhin and got paired with a Sona support. She dies twice early and begins to rage, blame me for the deaths, calling me bad, and spamming "ff at 15". After some arguing (I did get tilted and annoyed) she then says she's not going to heal me anymore and proceeds to take cs and literally sabotage me into dying (causing me to also fall behind along with her and give me my first deaths of the game). The only curse word I ever said in the chat was one "stfu" and yet the teamates that reported me said worse to me and her. Somehow me being her adc automatically tied me to her trolling and griefing? Oh and she rage quit. I understand that arguing with trolls and ragers isn't the way to deal with them but why am I getting punished for this just as bad as this Sona? I've been playing this game for years and this is my first ever game-play ban. Why was I the one to take the fall with her, if the other teamates were at one point also egging on her bad behavior? I'm not here to say that I am this perfect tilt-proof player; which I'm not. But if Riot is going to give punishment at least be consistent with it.

And again I get that I did not handle the situation the best. But I was literally getting sabotaged into dying and I didn't say anything to her or my teamates.I kept my cool and did not react to her taking my cs and tilting me. Half way through the game it's just me trying to play safe and wait for the surrender. I was getting accused, flamed, and bullied by not just Sona but also my teamates who reported me out of spite and anger.

When you log into the client, what does it say and what evidence are you presented with (game links and/or chat)?

It says I got reported because of abusive, player reported-comms. And I'm only assuming Sona also got punished because my team was requesting in all-chat that both of us be reported. By the end of the game I was just pleading my case that I wasn't trolling and that I shouldn't be reported. All I have is the chat log if you guys want to see it. It'll be disappointing if the system only punished me and not her.

Riots system doesn't do anything when it comes to gameplay offenses. The Sona taking CS, refusing to heal you, and actively trying to make you die is not factored at all. Thats why you are punished just as bad.

It looks like the Sona in question mentioned by OP is still active and playing, since he/she played two games after the aforementioned Sona game.

You might want understand on how the report system works;

System receives a report
System checks the reported for any toxicity and assigns a score (no toxicity = 0 pts)
Add that game's score to the existing toxicity score
If you pass 100 pts, you get punished.

Notice that more reports don't get you a higher score. Also you get a 0 score if you didn't do anything wrong.

There are scenarios where you will get punished and others won't. Assuming playerA flamed playerB and playerB said a few words back to him, but playerA was much more toxic than playerB.

At the end of the game, both reported each other and the systems gives a score of 40pts to playerA and 5pts to playerB. If playerA started the game with 50pts and playerB started with 95pts, playerB will get punished in that game (95+5=100) but playerA will not get punished (50+40=90).

If playerA played a few more games and got validly reported, there is a high chance that he will accumulate over 100pts and get punished. But keep in mind that playerB won't necessarily get a punishmnet notification.

In your game specifically, the automated system won't be able to recognize sona as trolling. It will require a manual review, in which the review dept are kind of back logged. They probably won't get to your report until 2 weeks later.

As a former Sona main, you need to get professional help if a Sona is trolling you
