I was wondering if you could get banned for mentioning certain phrases without actually using them. Here's an example of what I mean.
"I wonder why sm or 5m is banned." "I found out 5 pick was banned the other day because it's too close to [word here]" "I had to use Urban Dictionary to find out what [word] meant." "Why is [word] banned?" "It means [word] in this language."
Probably not worth trying.

In game, generally yes, as using any type of slur has the potential to detract from someone else's game experience.
On the boards, it depends heavily on the sub-board it's on as well as the context it's used in.
But Apple is a racist slur, and the N word is NAGA, which is an offensive word to the snake people

I've never heard of sm of 5m being offensive.
Can't think of what 5 pick would be either.
Am i behind on the times or something? lol
In game yes, the IFS scans for words. You can ask here and you'll get an answer if we know.
I doubt you would get banned on this board if you use those exact wording and not in excess.
In-game, are you playing a game or trying to have a discussion? Because it is quite difficult to do both seeing as you need 2 hands to effectively control your champion. I wouldn't be surprise at all if the IFS punishes you for using zero tolerance word in almost any context.
Just heavily censor it and keep the post constructive, polite, and related to League in some way.
