Report Calling During a Game is a Bannable Offense - Don't do it

There are a lot of views on this subject, and unfortunately many are flawed and based on subjective feelings of what is right and wrong. Feelings are not facts…

Calling for reports during a game is a bannable offense, meaning that if you write something like “Report Jinx for trolling”, you are ironically breaking the rules, even though the Jinx is in fact trolling. The reason for this being a bannable offense is that it often results in more toxic chat and behaviour, while taking the focus away from the game. Wait until after the game and when you are in the post-game chat before you shed light on the trolls. Do note that just because someone calls for reports in the post-game chat, you should not report the player that is called out. Unless you have seen the trolling, flaming, etc., you are not supposed to report at all. The ones calling for reports can in fact be trolling.

TL;DR:

  • Don’t call for reports during games
  • Don’t report without clear evidence

This is good to know, but Riot needs to be posting this stuff on their main website so everyone can see. Lack of knowledge is the problem.

I find it a little silly that saying "Please report Hecarim, he's flaming hard" in game is bannable but if you wait and type the same thing in post game it's cool.

I have a much more simple system for reports than all of that summoner's code nonsense.

Any game I lose, I just report everyone playing. The enemy were clearly a 5 man premade of smurfing scripters and deserved it and my own team was clearly trolling to throw the game for me. Yes, even if I'm 0/14 and they're all positive. It's a brilliant system because of how simple it is.

I think it shouldn't be but I understand why it is. Too many people are calling for false reports and that basically qualifies as harassment. If we could have 100% of people only request a report when it's flagrant and entirely justified, this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, we live in the real world so the rules need to take that into account.

Riot needs a 100% re haul of this god awful system, 90% of the time at the end of a game i see 4 of the enemies of my allies(whoever lost) call out for 1 player to be reported because they lost lane and went like 1/6. This wouldnt matter if the reports lead to nothing but since many of my friends jump for joy when they get the player banned notification. This happens so frequently I would say that my group of friends gets 3-4 players banned a week. Sometime whithout the player saying a word. The system needs human interaction but it has been proven 100x over that there is never direct input but a human being. (main evidence is the fact players are banned within 5 min of getting reported after a game
