RIOT - these chat bans are getting out of control...

These chat bans are getting absurd. I just received a 25 game chat ban for the below info. Let me give a premise first:

Our top lane Teemo DC'd at 5 minutes and never came back. Our Mid Brand is cursing at everyone, throwing F bombs, and calling us all b*tches. Our Trist ADC is inting, admitting she's inting in chat, and her and Brand won't FF. Our Janna Supp was the only positive player on the team. I was Jung.

The "worst" things I said in the below are "damnit Brand" and when I call him out for being toxic which I said made him worse than the DC.

How in the world is this worthy of a 25 game chat ban??? And there's no appeal process. I miss the days where judgement was handed down by the Tribunal. At least then we were being judged by people and not algorithms. They could also see the other players comments and take those into account. I just don't get it. Are we just not allowed to talk any longer?

3rd line from the start:

Every champion has their strengths and weaknesses. This line was not encouraging any teamwork, and it's insulting to the player who picked Teemo.

Then, after the Teemo had gone afk/dc, you singled out a different player:

Gragas Undressed: brand you're the worst player on the team. not only dying like crazy but talking trash. teemo is better than you.

The rest is general insults and discouraging chat. We've all played 4v5s; some are winnable, most aren't. You don't have to add to the terrible situation with this chat.

About calling for reports, which you did several times this game: it only takes 1 report to trigger a review of one's actions. Calling for reports is unnecessary and more often than not, can be harassing.

It does seem like a punishment was warranted here.

Honestly they are out of hand. This game TAKES FOREVER TO GET A HONOR level and just like that, a couple feeding trolls can report you. Boom, banned even from a 10 game chat and you lose all of all your honor. Honestly, this penalty structure is straight Bullsh*t. Im not surprised more people leave this game every week. The people who run it are on cloud nine and have no logical real world execution on how people really are. Its like they live in this California "no one tilts" false mindset. The reality is there are more trolls in League than another game currently on market. You have to account for that in the bans. Im pretty much over this game. Now they want you to have lvl 2 honors for Clash and you cant even get that now. It doesnt even matter if you mute all anymore, people can legit report for anything especially if its a premade who love to gang up one people. Rito is run by people who have zero knowledge of the real world and what this game has become. They can stare at numbers and data all day, but the reality is, they are not looking at the overall community, which is largely lower ranking Bronze and Silver players who are the most toxic of any level. This "negative attitude" mentality excuse is what kills everything. You cannot be positive when you lose the game instantly. Some games are a loss, from the start, based on player skill, comp choice and overall temperament. If you want to use the "negative attitude" as your excuse all the time, go join the liberal tolerance band wagon lol. its ridiculous how immature and borderline pre-teen the logic of the LoL community is. People suck, thats the reality, and you need a system that accounts for it and really takes serious offenses into account and not random troll reports when its not even warranted. oh boo hoo "harassment" for playing bad and not listening to actual advice during game and getting tilted for being just bad lol Low elo players only care about DMG and KDA, nothing else. If they dont have either, they tilt, and are "losing" even if by strategy the team is winning. Fuk off with your "harassment" mentalities. Jesus.

The system punishes based on consistency x severity.

This chat isn't severe, so I'd look at how often you would have such behavior.

Fyi, asking for reports is typically used for harassment and giving up is also a shunned upon in the community's eyes.

There really isn't a need to 9x report someone. 1 report is enough to flag the system to check for toxicity, the system returns the same answer whether there was 1 report or 9 reports.

They are out of hand. Sorry you have so many people coming in this thread and blindly siding with Riot. Rather than looking at the log for what it is, they are just TRYING TO FIND a reason of ANY kind to put the blame on you. Unless a Rioter comes in here and proves you are lying about something or hiding something, I am with you.

What probably ended up happening is that you said the word, "report" too much and that triggered the automated system. Usually saying a trigger word more than two or three times will do it.

agree with OP 100%...and the people arguing with you about it are the ones that turn players toxic...i will never understand why people brown-nose riot so hard. The things you said are VERY VERY minor and should not be bannable in ANY way at all. This game is headed down a path that only goody 2 shoes 10 year old kids will be allowed to play it.

If that other guy can get banned for calling someone a child, you can get chat restricted for this. Move on and talk nicer.

You signed an agreement with Riot to behave in a certain manner while on their servers. The other people in your game, the DC, inter, and flamer also signed the same agreement with Riot.

Them breaking their agreement doesn't invalidate yours. They certainly did break the terms they signed to. When that happens, the response you're expected to have is to report them at the end of the game. No insults in chat, no flame, no blame.

So, if you imagine that everyone else was playing perfectly, and a player unloaded all the chat lines like you did, would you think that they were out of line?
