Is there any solution to people simply not caring?

All of season 7, I've noticed a huge upsurge of people in my ranked games purposely throwing the game if they're not 5-0 in lane, regardless of how much communication and help they're given, resorting to FF20 followed by inting or afk or simply making knowingly wrong choices ("Oops, how foolish of me, I was farming bot for 4 minutes while you guys pinged for baron repeatedly", "oops I wasted ultimate and flash" etc).

And every time the team says "enjoy your ban, we're reporting", the answer from these gg @ 5 minutes players is "I don't care, this isn't even my account/I was plat last season I'll just climb again idgaf about losing one game/This is a smurf I'll just make another one/My main is on euw anyway(this happened just last game)."

I know smurfing itself isn't a bannable offense, but is there anything that could be done/is being done about smurf-related toxicity? It seems like they'll just make another account anyway since the perma-player bans are reserved for the Tyler1 types. I fail to see the benefit of allowing not one, but many smurf accounts, in the first place.

They really need to do something, but in order to do that they would need to make a rule about smurfing. At this point in time what could they do? They could make it so you link all your account to one main account, but then what would happen if you didn't link? They wouldn't outright make it a punishable offense because I'm sure loads of people have another account. I know I've got maybe one, two account I rarely go on as they were used to play vs ai and mainly just report bottled accounts!

If it helps, and it won't.... at first, but coming to terms with the fact that lower tier games are literally infested with multiple-account trolls and botters, might help you realize that it's not that most of them are recreationally trolling you, but just that logistically, it's hard to keep track of two champions on different teams, they just 'set it and forget it' and then only come back if you type something....

the only time i get mad now is when the cheaters/botters are so lazy and so blatant that they have some bargain basement bots or something which are just super obviously ks and farming bots...

here's the thing best not to say anything if you can help it, cuz these folks have lots of account with which to report you with.....

i dont think there actually is a solution.

this game needs matchmaking for sure. it is not very fun to get roflstomped by much stronger players and it is also not very much fun to crush players who are much worse. ive been in games that are easier than bots and it just feels like a waste of time. not satisfying at all. so matchmaking is important.

matchmaking has its own big problems though. when you win you get harder games and when you lose you get easier games. that creates incentive to lose, which is a very bad thing. especially after i have a frustrating loss i get a strong urge to throw a few games to lower my mmr a bit so i can play easier games.

also in matchmaking you will lose around 50% of your games no matter what you do. which causes a hopeless feeling. i know every time i win, i am going to have to lose for it in the future. it sucks a lot of the fun out of any win because of that fact. i might as well take a troll pick and play for fun because even if lose, it is just going to help me get a future win.

Rank degradation needs to be in all tiers and it needs to happen faster. They need to create a relegation tier below bronze that prevents you from playing ranked till you move back into bronze. The whole problem with the system is there is really no incentive to be a better player.

This could at least solve some of the ranked problems with idiots not giving a shit.
