it's really frustrating when you get a troll in champ select and your only choices are join the game, hoping and praying you have good enough teammates to make up for it, and deal with them for at least 20 min because at least then you can report them, or drop and take a punishment yourself AND have no way to report them.

Cyraken1 votesReports are not worthless, if someone reports very often, and consistently reports people that no one else has reported then THEIR reports are actually worthless, and the system takes that into account. I've been notified several times that someone I reported has been banned, even though (or probably because) I rarely ever use my report function.
Drakusatheon1 votesIt definitely feels like a lose/lose scenario. I guess that's what makes it so tempting to trolls. They can say they're trolling and you either have to take a hit because you don't want to play with them, or remain as their captive audience for a game and lose. Sometimes you can win regardless of a troll, but either way it can be a very unfun experience.

Incorrect.
By reporting the players, you are contributing to the improvement of the community across the board. It is being improved... but you want instant results, instant gratification.... that will lead to greater problems than it will solve.

Instant gratification means gaining some sort of pleasure immediately, what I'm looking for is similar, but not the same. I'm just asking if there's a way to NOT SUFFER through 20 minutes. Often times one game is all I have time to squeeze in in a day, and this experience completely ruins my chance to play league. I HAVE to drop, or have my only game be a terrible game. Then, if it happens again and I get the 10 minute wait time, that's it, I don't get to play at all. Perhaps that makes the problem glare more to me than to someone who has the time to enjoy a second or third game.

You are presenting a fallacious argument, it is bad/wrong/incoherent. Your argument is derived from a Nirvana fallacy... or in very simple terms; Yes, it 'could' be better... literally everything that has ever existed "could be better" and hence, that is not an argument.

Yes it sucks that you can sometimes have to dodge and wait out a minor penalty because someone else is trolling. But that penalty is easily worth it and you benefit from its existence every time you queue up by having less games dodged.
