"Tribunal Down for Maintenance"

Whats up with this thing and why? I really want to join the Tribunal and help the community somehow It says "We are busy making changes to the Tribunal and expect to have things up and running again in the future. Thank you for your patience!" for how long? Is this this even working and when is the last time it worked?

Edit 1: The last time they said something about the Tribunal was 1 year ago A WHOLE YEAR. http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/player-behavior/new-player-reform-system-heads-testing

Not sure what changes but I feel like they forgot about it

Edit 2: I removed my comments because they doesn't have any impact on the topic.

                                                                     **Riot's Answer**

Hello Summoner,

I’m sorry, but I can’t provide any information beyond the announcement of any new or upcoming content or >promotions. Anything we haven’t officially released is still subject to change, so we try not to discuss too many >details.

At the moment we have the Instant Feedback System in place. Generally speaking, players who are toxic in game >will receive a punishment shortly after their game has ended, provided a report has been made. The punishment can >be a chat restriction, temporary suspension or a permanent suspension, depending on the severity of the negative >behavior displayed in game.

More offenses on an account means a stronger punishment:

First offense: 10 games chat restriction Second offense: 25 games chat restriction Third offense: 2 week ban Fourth offense: Permanent ban Players are now able to review their reform cards within the client via pop up notification. If a player leaves the >notification for any reason, they can review it again by logging back into the client. Keep in mind that these chat logs >will only show the punished player’s chat, as their purpose is to help that player reform directly.

Responding to toxic behavior with negativity is not something we tolerate, so if other players were also being >negative in the game, they will get their own punishments and reform cards to review.

I hope this general information was helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions!

It's probably in the same ditch as Aatrox's rework.

It will come back soon never. It has been down for longer than I have been playing, and I started at the end of season 4. Don't expect it to come back.

the tribunal has currently been replaced with a automated instant feedback system.

The tribunal had a problem at that time where there were way too much back log and people weren't getting punished fast enough.

The automated system has a much lower falsely punished rate and punishes people within 5 mins of their game ending, but keep in mind you won't receive a notification unless it was the game that they got punished (not when it was building towards their case).

Riot did mention that they have an idea for tribunal 2.0 and it'll compliment the current system plus interact with the honors system. However that is far down the road in terms of priority to be implemented.

Well, if you want to help out, why not join the efforts of already many players who are taking on the duty to set a positive, untiltable role model for others in League of Legends? In many cases, that's just as valuable.

This game is so horrible with feedbacks. I'm constantly getting afkers and abusers during ranked games. Even IF I REPORT, it looks like there is nothing being done. I always see them playing next game without any problems. This RIOT's system is so awful.

Wondering if you can speak towards tribunal 2.0 ? Sneak peak pretty pleasseeee? - Just curious what are the upcoming behavior features.

We are talking about next steps. To set expectations, it won't be soon, because there is a lot of work there. One thing we would like to do is let you honor sportsmanlike behavior and not just punish negative behavior.

This is the last I've heard about the new Tribunal. Source

All you need to know is that RIOT is lying, the Tribunal is not down for maintenance (as it has been for over 3 years). It's gone. In it's place is a really flawed automated computer system, which will become the new Tribunal soon. Aka, it's gone, period.

Lyte (ie the single most corrupt, manipulative, and purely self-righteous asshole that Riot ever hired) announced a long time ago that the tribunal was never coming back. Not sure why they have that notice about it being in maintenance, but it's gone for good. The actual single best method to correct toxicity was removed in favor of a bot that has proven it's ineffectiveness time and again. The only actual downside to the Tribunal was that it took too long to dole out punishments, and this caused players to potentially be banned upwards of a month after the offence in question.

However, given that he recently "resigned" we may yet see a resurgence of the tribunal. I sincerely hope so, it was a much more fair system that allowed players to judge each other based entirely on the context of the situation, instead of a banbot highlighting key words in a chat log in the complete absence of other players' chat.

It was often abused. Those who want it back are merely looking to enact what they call "justice" on others (aka. rage vote punish someone cuz they had a bad game). It's giving the community the ability to be passive-aggressive anonymously.
