feeders, afks, and ranked
i get it. LoL is an online video game. LoL gives us norms and ranked. its either competitive or not. except it's always competitive. thats the nature of a game designed to pit players against other players. so, frankly, distinguishing between "norms" and "ranked" means very little. I'm writing this from the perspective of a player who seems to be permanently stuck in bronze. i'm not terrible. i'm not great. clearly not even platinum. maybe gold. in all likelihood silver. idk. but thats a personal assessment of my own skill. i have friends who also think that i'm better than my rank. whatever. thats all subjective. here's my real point. i play a lot of games in bronze. cause im bronze. i get tons of teammates who go afk. i get tons of teammates who have no idea what they're doing. i get tons of teammates who get pissed and start feeding like they work at a zoo or some nonesense. this is the inherent flaw of online/communal gaming. not everyone takes it seriously. riot. if you are committed to having a ranked system and making this a competitive game i fully believe you need to address feeders and afks. i get it. sometimes there are technical problems and it screws you over, it screws your team over. it wrecks a game. that happens to the best of us. but when there's a game and a player is "drunk and lonely" so he intentionally tanks a game. the guy needs a perma ban. ive been drunk and lonely. i know how that feels. intimately. and although my heart goes out to him on that level HE FREAKING TANKED MY GAME. deal with your personal shit elsewhere. LoL is not the place to take all your nonsense out on the rest of us. but I lose lp for it. just because i had the bad luck of your match making algorithm matching me up with this poor sod. i know there's no way for you to weed dudes like this out before hand. that's insane. but for the love of god at least take reports of guys like this seriously. perma bans. instantly. 4 players lose lp because 1 player is having a rough day. thats BS. and i know thats just part and parcel with online gaming. there's a certain amount of that kind of thing that's going to happen. but for as long as i've been playing this game, and i'm a regular reporter (not just cause im a butt hurt player, but because the reporting system is there so we, as a community, can make this game better) and i've only every seen the "such and such a player has been banned because of your, and others, reports" message once. RIOT! please take these things more seriously. i also understand that banning isn't actually in your interest. the more accounts you ban the more potential income you jeopardize. i get it. i do. you're a business. and you're not in the business of denying customers access to your services. but if you're really committed to produced a quality, competitive game you need to address these problems. in the name of potential future revenue. long term gamers/subscribers (even those of use who aren't any good but still pay a lot of money for premium content because we enjoy the game so much) would like these issues resolved. i get it. i'm only probably silver at best. but because this game doesn't accurately match skill levels for games and because terribly toxic players continue to be active in the ranked Q's, I, and many players like me, are stuck in games where we are the only players taking the game seriously. I understand players who don't have the skill. I understand players who don't have the experience. I even understand players who have taken a bong rip or two too many. i get that i do. but i don't understand players who intentionally tank games. i don't understand how riot can continue to support players like this, even though they are likely to be paying customers, when customers/players who do take this game seriously continue to be punished. RANT OVER.
