PSA: If you smurf be respectful

Death Rex·9/10/2018, 2:22:50 PM·66 votes·17,213 views

Like, if you play in a lower elo than your own don't disrespect your teammates. We get it, you play better than us and are only here to have fun. But please, don't call us trash for making mistakes. You were once on this elo as well and are now a visitor, be respectful.

I'm ashamed I have to even say this, this should be common sense. Anyway, have a great day.

They shouldnt even be playing ranked on their smurfs tbh, they can play norms and get matched with that MMR

if your teamate is a smurf, don't grow an ego and flame him when he tells you to do something and you just decide not to

In all honesty, smurfing is more harmful for any game than poor behavior. Yes, toxicity is bad all around, but smurfing exacerbates the problem. I believe I have said this before, but how would you like a college or pro start athlete come and disturb your beer league hockey, basketball, softball, or other sport games?

For those just trying to play within their skill level, it would be extremely (and reasonably) frustrating. Yes, being a good denizen of the game is important for everyone (including smurfs), but smurfing is a problem in it's own right.

I get the idea why you say this, but why talk sense into people that play in order to intentionally BREAK the match balance?

If they're smurfing in general that means they're hardstuck kappas, fulfilling their destiny with ego.

nah man when smurfing, especially at lvl 1-10 you should tell new players they play like garbage and they should uninstall the game because they play like new players which is unacceptable

The only time I'll be disrespectful while smurfing is if my teammates or people on the enemy team are placing blame on other players when they are the one at fault in the first place.

When I smurf i normally just don't talk to people unless i'm setting up a gank or w/e. The only time i start talking to people is when my enemy laner starts bming and emoting, thats when i just run him over continuously and start putting them in their place

This should be a standard, I miss the days when smurfs actually tried to teach newer players.

My only problem with people across the whole spectrum, smurf or not, is when they INSIST on not waiting a few measly seconds for teammates to get into position as they return from base or setting up a flank or roaming to assist.

Wasting your team’s time by engaging ASAP just because YOU are ready when no one else is and losing on kills or objectives as a result of knee-jerk actions tilts the ever-loving shit out of me.

That's where you're wrong! I, xxMLGFakerSmurfxx, was born a challenger!

Here are my reasons why I'm currently leveling up a smurf account:

  • I ended up unlocking free content in my main account, so I have all champs, literally no point in play normals in there.
  • I want to get rid of my ranked anxiety.
  • I want to keep training myself in ranked, while not showing that games in the main account cause they might be a lot of games.
  • I want to test and master new champions (from my current role ADC, so I shouldn't be feeding that hard) and normals usually don't have the same ambient than ranked.
  • I want to stop getting tilted if I lose.

There's two types of smurfs:

1.Boosters (boosting accounts for money)

2.Hard stuck Platinum/Diamond players with very low self esteem. They're the weakest of the weakest among their league - so they smurf vs Bronze and Silver to bully beginners - since that's the only way they can still win some games. Same reason a 16 year old bully would bully a 10 year old. Low self esteem.

What I don’t like is when I, your casual silver 3 player, tries to help the team by pointing them in what we should do next, and somebody says something like “shut up I know how to play the game”. Ok good to know but I can still give suggestions lol. Or even better was when I played Ashe adc, I was doing really well and so was our zed mid, I was helping the team with objectives and after I typed something the zed said something like, “shut up I have more kill participation than you” I had an equal amount of kills, less deaths, equal or more assists than him and I took more objectives than him. I don’t think he was smurfing but that attitude is the same as you described with smurfs.

When i Smurf i dont even communicate aside from pings, no one in the game except my friend ( who i am trying to help improve, Not Boost... ) even know i dont belong in said elo.

I dont even feel like it makes that much of a skill difference anyways. My smurf account always has a super high mmr, which means it creates a disadvantage for our own team. The other team almost always has a higher total mmr when i am duo queued on a smurf account. It just puts more weight on myself to carry.

Or you know, be respectful if you are a SMURF or if you aren't a smurf. Being an asshole has to do with one's personality and not the account they are playing atm.
