Some thoughts on honor progression and rewards (my experience)
So I've noticed as the season is coming to an end, im seeing allot of posts of people asking about the honor system and if they are able to make it to lvl 2 before November 19. This is to be expected just because everyone wants their rewards and the seasons almost up. So I just wanted to give some words with it.
I will give my experience as to how my honor progression and reformation went being as I had recorded both instances so that maybe you can get a general idea as to how long it takes and how to progress the fastest. There is one thing to be noted though: HONOR PROGRESSION WILL VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON! So the way it climbed for me may be different from you.
- Last season I got 2 week'd in April and was unbanned on may 3rd. After doing my research, I learned that you will climb the fastest by not being validly reported and honoring every game (you want to get that team honor bonus as much as you can).
After staying flame/toxic free (I was afraid of losing my account!) I've noticed my honor unlocking after a day and a half. Afterwards I received honor checkpoints every 10-12 days just about, playing around 8-12 games a day (it was summer and was working part time at the moment..). I regained honor level 2 on August 11, 2018 and honor 3 sometime in late October, I stopped recording after getting 2 obviously but I know I received 3 in October.
(May 3rd - August 11)
- This season I received 2 chat restrictions (both were 10 games). The last one was on may 24.
Both honor locks came off the same day I received the restrictions (you have to relog in order for it to refresh)
Being as I have a new job and was doing some summer classes. I only had time to play 4-6 games a day. But by even playing just 5 games average a day, I was able to regain level 2 on August 1st from 0. Honor progression is easier this season than the last it seems and I know there was a patch last season that made progression less steep
(May 24th-August 1st)
So with absolute PERFECT behavior, honoring every game, and making the league experience good for others, you will be getting checkpoints every 11 days or so. Again, this was just my experience. One thing I want to say is while you're progressing, don't focus on when you will progress, it's best to focus on true reform and positivity; don't be fake just for the progression. Just mute and report the trolls/flamers and they'll eventually catch their lunch like you did when you got punished!
If you want my opinion, if you are honor 1 I DO believe you have enough time for level 2 by November 19. Although I must warn you that one slip up and that's that, one valid report can stall your progression for like a day or two. Play enough and be a good person and honor every game and you'll possibly do it. Remember riot does this because they want extra reasons to not be a dick on the rift
Hopefully this cleared some stuff up and maybe saved you some time from making a post yourself. Many asked why my account level is so high, well that's why. Grinding heavily for Honor (twice) and trying to be a nice player on the rift. Ever since then, I can honestly say that I feel good being able to stay cool and not stoop down to a flamers level.
