the new honor system has a negative side, a big flaw

Riot didn't and won't make progress exp bars for the honor system cause they dont want you to find out how it works or whatever and they don't want you to think of it as a reward. which is all fine and dandy for people who are at honor 2 and above.

but what about those at honor 0-1 who need honor 2 for end of season rewards? there are no guides on how long it takes to get honor idk if there are any official riot statements saying the fastest you can get it and how many games but right now riot is essentially giving indefinate bans on end of season rewards, there should be a number of games you can play and get back honor 2

I think this applies to honor 0-1 people too. Riot doesn't want them to try to figure out how to game the system. I think it actually applies more to people in honor level 0-1 since these people have the most to gain by trying to find a shortcut alternative to showing good behavior for a while.

there is no set number of games it varies

it takes hundreds of games over many months at minimum

If you are worried about the rewards then it is not all about being honorable in the first place.

The big flaw here was the people being toxic and getting demoted to Honor 0.

This is true. Riot decided against adding a progress bar to the Honor System because they didn't want it to be turned from a long-term reward expectancy into a game of raw math and more meters to fill.

I'd imagine that even those who could hypothetically game the system would have a really rough time trying to optimize their grind, but, the point remains; Riot doesn't want it to be a grind. They want Honor to be a passive gain throughout the year, not a dedicated grind for free rewards.

...and they don't want you to think of it as a reward.

This is false. The primary point of the Honor system is to recognize and reward long-term, sportsmanlike behavior. If they didn't want us to think of it as a reward, they wouldn't give us ambient Key Fragment drops, free skins, loading screen flairs, other such loot, and the promise of a bonus reward at the end of the season for reaching Honor Level 3+.

but what about those at honor 0-1 who need honor 2 for end of season rewards? there are no guides on how long it takes to get honor idk if there are any official riot statements saying the fastest you can get it and how many games but right now riot is essentially giving indefinate bans on end of season rewards, there should be a number of games you can play and get back honor 2

Between Riot statements and gleaning information from other people posting about it (with Riot comments on some of those threads), we've ascertained this much:

  • Honor Progress can be slowed/halted if valid reports are made against you, regardless of whether or not they result in a punishment.
  • Honor is gained passively, with small bonuses given from getting Honored and receiving the Team Honor Bonus.

And, this next one is light speculation on my part, but I imagine it's still worth considering;

  • Honor Progress may be gained faster through positive, sportsmanlike behavior.

We don't need to know the nitty-gritty numbers behind the Honor System - we just need to know roughly how it works, and, thankfully, it seems to work in a fairly simple way that falls in line with the rules of the game. Don't break the rules, and you'll climb Honor just fine.

It takes a month to get through each checkpoint. So it'll take 8 months to get back to Honor Level 2 from having honor unlocked.
