with end of season I have an idea for honor, please read riot

in the last seasons as long as you didn't have a chat restriction on the day season ended and hadn't been banned within 2-3 months you were able to get rewards. I think this is a really fair system, and I can also see why riot has now decided to make it so players need honor 2+ to be able to receive rewards, it's to show that you were honorable all season and not just in the last 3 months and to reward you for it. I am okay with this even though I am honor level 0.

Now onto what I've come here to beg/ask riot about. currently as seen by last season, those with honor lvl 0-1 do not get their honor reset to level 2 come end of season unlike everyone else. what I'm proposing is that how about as long as players at 0-1 honor haven't been punished AT ALL in the last 3-4-5-6 months, then they too will be able to be reset to honor level 2(checkpoint 0) come preseason. hear me out, I do understand how honor works and that if you're negative/receive valid reports without getting a punishment it will slow your honor, and it works, and you get punished by missing out of end of season rewards,

but the question I ask is: should you still be punished after the season ends, and everyone else gets their honor gets reset, if you haven't actually been punished with a mute/ban in the past 4 months, this also takes into account that when the new season starts, it'll be harder to level from 0-1 honor, because as of now they've shortened how long it takes to get from 0 to 2, but when next season hits it'll get harder again(presumably)

I know people who are stuck at honor level 2 checkpoint 0, and we're like 7 months into this new season, the only thing separating them and the people stuck at honor 0-1 is that the people at honor 0-1 got punishments that put them down an honor level. no seriously, think about it, people are stuck at honor 2, 0 checkpoint for being validly reported, people are stuck at honor 1, checkpoint 0 for being validly reported, people are stuck at honor 0 checkpoint 0 for being validly reported, and the only thing separating these three is the fact that 1-14 months ago two of them slipped up a bit too much in chat or in game and got a chat restrict or a ban. yes there are people who got punished in season 7 that still haven't moved honor levels, even though they act EXACTLY THE SAME as the people stuck at honor 2, checkpoint 0

wait I actually just realized that as I was creating this post, that's actually insane to think about, I mean there are clearly honorable people who move up honor levels like nothing and eventually hit honor 5, but there are a whole lot of people who are getting validly reported and are stuck at honor 2, checkpoint 0 with the same behavior as people stuck at lower honor levels but are getting end of season rewards and keeping honor 2 next season

I like the old system, of course I do I'm honor level 0, but I'm not asking for end of season rewards, I'm simply asking that players who haven't been punished in a while be reset to honor 0 come next season, please riot, please community, as much as it's ultimately up to riot, you community do have a large say with your up votes and down votes, there will be players who come across this and have never been punished and will think that everyone at honor 0-1 deserves what they get, and they're entitled to their opinion, but I want to thank you guys, the people who are honorable and are above honor level 2 and have never been punished, I know the majority of league community doesn't get punishments and I hope you don't see this post as someone begging for the same things honorable players have, I know that players don't just magically demoted to honor 0-1, they have to have been negatively impacting the game for it to happen, but many got their punishments months or even a year ago, and have been stuck there by acting exactly the same an honor level 2 checkpoint 0 acts, I'm not asking for end of season rewards, I'm just asking for an honor reset back to level 2 with the rest of the league community as long as players meet a certain condition.

Thank you for reading, I guess I'll add a poll, please read all of the post, and any comments that are posting before casting your vote too quickly

This actually seems like an okay idea. If a players clinb has been slowed, but they haven't been repunished, I see no real downside to giving them a reset to 2.

I actually think it's fair, but I think it should be based on games played, and not time.

That way, it'll stop the people from abusing it by hoping to another account and get a free reset without doing any work.

very smart idea

I don't think it should be a time thing. I feel like a game amount would be better. Why should you get honor 2 just because you didn't play the game for x amount of time?

The only difference between regular climbing and the game requirement is the fact can jump to 2 at reset.

I can get behind this. People need to feel like their efforts at improving have an impact or else they'll give up.

Here is the thing though: Honour exists both in the real world and in game as a code to discourage bad behaviour. If you behave badly, you should expect that to damage your reputation and have consequences. Ideally we would all be decent regardless, but clearly some people only behave well when they fear the consequences of NOT doing so. Hence, control measures like the honour system and bans

league has a pathetic enforcement system as is, and softening it is the opposite of what's needed. currently a toxic buffoon can easily cruise for awhile ignoring the weak enforcement, and when they finally do get a significant consequence like a ban, they simply make a second account. Hell completely worthless trolls like Tyler1 get allowed back into the game after repeated extremely poor behaviour. If you use slurs and harrass, you should expect to be removed. if you AFK, feed, and grief, expect to be admonished and then removed if you refuse to stop.
honour rewards are a "thank you" to the players who make the game better, and so obviously players who purposefully make it worse should not get thanked. in short: you do not get a prize for behaving well by behaving badly. it would devalue the reward and make the whole enterprise pointless. the fact that toxic players are even allowed to continue playing at all is a kindness which i think goes unappreciated

If you want Santa Braum to give you a present, just be good! lol

I like the combined time/gamr idea. 100 games over 6 months would be... 4-5 games per week.

Based on their history, I don't see Riot giving out specific numbers like that.

Another reasonable (IMO) possibilty could be a "bump up" one tier. In other words, H1=>H2 and H0=>H1.

Finally, I don't see this as a reward, so much as reducing the grindiness to hopefully encourage player to feel like changing their behavior is still worth the effort.

just remove honor , nobody honors other people other than their buddies

You know, the problem isn't if Level 0/1 should be reset or not. The real issue is how difficult it is to progress in the honor system as a whole and that it requires you to:

  1. Get honored by strangers on a daily game basis.
  2. Be always on a team where 4 random players have the culture of honoring after game.
  3. Be always honoring people, even in games where you are literally forced to honor a flamer or an inter to do so.

I can't vote, because my option isn't on the list. If the Honor system was tweaked to fix the problems I stated, your proposition wouldn't need to be implemented at all(and it would fix only a subset of the actual problem even if does see light of day).

I play since Mid-season every other day, multiple games a session, and I'm Honor Level 3, Checkpoint 1. At this point, this isn't a system proving you're a honorable player, it's system proving enormous time spent on a Season basis.
