Disclaimer: I am not the original creator of this post. I simply came across it and thought it was a good read. Decided to share it with the LoL community.

Here is what a toxic player REALLY is:

  1. Someone complaining on teamates, over things his teamates cant do anything about, making it unnesecary flaming. 2.Someone who is constantly griefing, damaging, or missusing chat. 3.A player who can never take the blame on himself.
  2. An abusive player.

Here is what people THINK toxic means:

  1. Someone who writes in CAPS.
  2. Someone who gets angry.
  3. Someone that spamms info.
  4. Someone that uses voice chat(yeah im thinking wtf too)

Writing in caps is not just a way to express anger, it makes me really mad seeing that the use for caps is way up in space because so many people play games nowadays and forgot what the hell caps is used for. Caps is used for focusing or making a point clear. Example: DANGER! Bad example yeah i know but u get the concept. This is not a reason to call a player toxic(unless theyr using it to flame) Another example is my title.

Getting angry is natural, being toxic is making a choice u know is bad. Some people have it in their genes to have a short fuse, you cant call someone toxic for that, its like calling someone with cancer a freak for choosing to have cancer, like, wtf, its not a choice, neither is being angry. If someone is angry, it is your fault, not the angered guys fault. (ofc you can do anger management ♥♥♥♥ but comeon guys....everyone gets angry) And you probably did something wrong to make him mad, if u cant accept that, mute, but dont call him toxic.

By spamming info, i mean ofcourse shouting in voice chat or writing lots on info in caps in the chat. I can understand if you think its annoying if someone uses voice chat so u cant hear steps, but then u can just mute, dont say "stfu" or anything. Info is important, if someone uses chat or voice chat it probably means they have important info in most cases, and you should try to listen. If its too much:mute. But they are trying to help so dont frickin call them annoying and dont tell them to stfu.

Now we come to the part im actually most angered by, what people THINK is toxic. If i see 1 guy go mid, and get killed by an AWP, its natural, ♥♥♥♥ happens. Second guy goes mid intentionally, and dies. Makes me somewhat mad because he KNEW there was an AWP there. THIRD GUY GOES IN. And by that time i start shouting in chat "DONT GO ♥♥♥♥ING MID GO BACK HES GOT AWP". Instantly someone says "stfu toxic player". The rest of the game, they try to argue against me and try to convince me im a toxic player. In the end of the game, they tell everyone ive been flaming and crying all game and being toxic.........wait what, i argued against them on me being toxic, i simply deffended myself, how the heck am I THE ONE crying -.-

NOTE: WHAT I DID ABOVE IS NOT FLAMING, OR BEING TOXIC, ITS GETTING MY MESSAGE CLEAR BY USING CAPS, BECAUSE OTHERWISE THE 4TH GUY WOULD ALSO GO MID. And it worked more than well.

So next time you play a game, dont call anyone toxic, even if he is DONT call him toxic, it will only make him even more mad. If you think someones toxic, mute them, and keep doing your best. (if your not even trying YOU are a toxic player, honestly)

A toxic player is someone whos damaging the community, keep that in mind. Blaming someone for being toxic is damaging the community.

All of these things are punishable.

  1. Someone who writes in CAPS.

Not necessarily, and I urge you to give me an example of someone who thinks writing caps is, in itself, toxic. No one thinks that though, so it's going to be hard.

Just a bad point.

  1. Someone who gets angry.

Again, it's fine to get angry. The problem occurs when you want to express that anger, which usually ends up demoralizing the team.

  1. Someone that spamms info.

In some cases it's fine. Ping drake of baron all you want.

But in other cases it's not fine. Don't keep mentioning you ADC's 1/8 score.

  1. Someone that uses voice chat(yeah im thinking wtf too)

Meant for Overwatch or CS:GO? Not really applicable here.

My point is that all these points (except the last one) are not punishable in and of themselves. Rather, they are all tools used by toxic people to amplify or ignite toxicity. I also think that these points are VASTLY different for League, compared to games like Overwatch or CS:GO. In League, you have ALOT more time to think about what you write, and information is more easily readable, due to it's slower pace and HUD. In CS:GO it's these tools can be used often without being toxic, but in League not so much.

Writing in caps is not just a way to express anger, it makes me really mad seeing that the use for caps is way up in space because so many people play games nowadays and forgot what the hell caps is used for. I don't play CS:GO or Overwatch, but i'm 99% sure that no one will call you toxic for writing things such as DANGER!. If it was a bad example, he should have given a better one. This is a text post. You can spend as much time as you want writing it. If he spent hours trying to find a better example, it may just be that the problem he is presenting isn't a problem.

And in League, no one would call you toxic for saying MIA or DANGER in all caps. In League though, pings can be used for most cases where you would normally write in caps, except for in the cases where you use caps to be toxic.

(Side note, from now on I will just write as if this was for League, just to demonstrate how much this in no way is applicable here.)

Getting angry is natural, being toxic is making a choice u know is bad. Some people have it in their genes to have a short fuse, you cant call someone toxic for that, its like calling someone with cancer a freak for choosing to have cancer, like, wtf, its not a choice, neither is being angry.

You can't really sense someones anger from what they write, unless they CHOOSE to have it that way. And by choosing to display the anger, it usually ends up coming off as toxic. Only in very few cases, does it not end up in flaming.

If someone is angry, it is your fault, not the angered guys fault. (ofc you can do anger management ♥♥♥♥ but comeon guys....everyone gets angry) And you probably did something wrong to make him mad, if u cant accept that, mute, but dont call him toxic.

If you don't have the tiny amount of self-control it takes not to flame someone that is making you unintentionally angry, then you shouldn't play. Then you ARE toxic.

By spamming info, i mean ofcourse shouting in voice chat or writing lots on info in caps in the chat. I can understand if you think its annoying if someone uses voice chat so u cant hear steps, but then u can just mute, dont say "stfu" or anything. But they are trying to help so dont frickin call them annoying and dont tell them to stfu.

Again, nothing to do with League. This whole paragraph is useless. You can use pings to EASILY display information in a non-toxic way, and you cannot be toxic unless you CHOOSE to be toxic.

Now we come to the part im actually most angered by, what people THINK is toxic. If i see 1 guy go mid, and get killed by an AWP, its natural, ♥♥♥♥ happens. Somewhat applicable actually. "Don't go into the 18/0 Jinx and Lulu with full build and ardent censer one by one". I give you that one, some people could view that as toxic. But that is THEIR problem. Literally nothing will happen to you for saying that, even if they report you. You can even write it in caps and you would likely be fine.

So next time you play a game, dont call anyone toxic, even if he is DONT call him toxic, it will only make him even more mad. If you think someones toxic, mute them, and keep doing your best. (if your not even trying YOU are a toxic player, honestly)

Entirely agreed. If someone is toxic, report him and move on. Don't interact with him. But this post is almost entire useless, because the points it argues are widely agreed upon by most people.

End post. What are your thoughts after reading this?

What a completely bad post, with poorly argued points.
