I believe the ban is justified if the explanation behind the ban is accurate (that Nubrac was choosing this off-meta strat for the purpose of aggravating streamers).

It doesnt seem like the casse from what we see of him, he seems like a chill and fun guy. And he was in the top 1% of league players so like he isn't really doing too much wrong

I mean, sub 50% winrates make you lose elo, so from what I can tell, he played other champs to keep his elo up, despite losing more than 50% of his teemo games

Yes, but sub 50% winrate does not mean trolling.

With trolling you should have around 10% winrate, in hight elo I think even less...

Unless you’re not trying to be caught like a moron. You can troll (make players rage at you) on purpose and still win games. Only Idiots troll obviously, especially to have a 10% win rate. And besides that, he only started doing teemo support in the last few months, this isn’t something he got to challenger on.

Nubrac maintains he climbed from d3 or d4 to masters mainly off of this pick.

He is at 15 wins and 15 losses for his last 30 games as Teemo support. That's pretty long con trolling to go 50% over that many games. Or maybe he's just peaked at Master MMR with this strat. Or maybe he could have gotten higher if nb3 hadn't gone afk in game to use a Riot contact to get him banned. Tough to say really...

He didn't start playing it untill late May, Look at his match history. He played teemo before May, yes, but It was 90% top lane teemo. It wasn't until late May that he began spamming it whenever he was in a game with a streamer to get a reaction. Take your hate for nb3, and shove it out the window, and then look at the facts. Idc what happens to NB3, but Nubrac deserved the ban 100% if you look at the facts. Smart trolls HIDE the fact that they're trolling. Doesn't mean it didn't happen.

The last 30 games played on Teemo were all support Teemo. 31 if you count the remake.

I haven't commented much on nb3's role besides it being unfair that a "prominent" streamer can threaten to get people banned and then follow through. He's got his own 14 day vacation now.

I'm much more interested in whether Nubrac should be banned for playing off-meta in his own way.

15-15 just doesn't look like trolling to me it looks more like coin flipping.

Doesn't mean it did either.

Pros of Nubrac Strategy:

He got Irelia ahead early game
he put TF really far behind Cons of Nubrac Strategy:
Sivir was fucked all game.
because of is being 1v2 bot, NB3 was forced to stay bot to assist.
because Sivir was fucked, jng assist was meaningless.
Top now has no help, while enemy jungle could freely camp top, since NB3 was stuck bot lane.
Since he was leeching exp, Nubrac actually allowed TF to catch up and eventually outlevel Irelia.

Much more pros than cons...right? Why did he not adapt? THAT is why they say he griefed - he expected everyone else to just deal with it, and effectively derailed the rest of the game, particularly bot and mid.

Now, NB being a prick is also unacceptable, but imo, most people if presented with someone playing like this, would be the NB3 in that situation.

It's a suboptimal strategy, yes.

But have you ever seen people gettin' banned for picking champions into their counters, buying suboptimal items, or not perfect rotations, bad baron/dragon calls.

According to Rito you are allowed to play suboptimal, if you still try to win.

He was doing it prior to ever playing with said streamer and him climbed for D4-Master tier using the strat. He also asked Riot directly if he could do it before ever doing it in a game and Riot said it was okay

This. People really hate strategies that don't meet their terms of "meta" though as vote is close to even.

They added a timer you had to wait out before you could give a verdict. They also made it only give IP, if your verdict matched the final decision. That was how it worked the last time I used it.

I’m sure said system would have no problems like players not using it, players abusing it and spamming pardon or punish just to get it done.

Look man, I miss the Tribunal as much as the next guy, but as much as this community wants to botch about the trolls, afkers, feeders, inters, etc, when given the tools to fix the problem they clearly didn’t want to put in the work.

The nuances to the situation are many and if you don't think they both should've been banned, NB3 more severely (to the point of the perma-ban and all affiliations nullified) and then the 3rd party who was the bridge for this happening, then you clearly should stay out of the situation.

Riot did the best they could in this situation. NB3 has a lot of pull and drives a lot of people to the game as a big content creator. Riot had to choose between a guy raking in money or some random guy who was trolling but thought he was smart about it by trying to hide behind this "I'm off-meta" thing.
