Hey Riot

As many other people who play this game i kinda thing that my Account is priceless because i had it for 6 years and i have over $1000 in it and am just curious what are the reasons someone can get

Perma-banned Time banned Punished Chat restricted And other forms of punishment

I really want to know this because you never created an official thread talking about this at i kinda don't know yet whats right and wrong and what can get you banned and what can't

I mean i cuss a lot in my matches because of the noobs i have in my teams and the stupid things they do like every other player who plays league but i don't know when too much is too much and what do report's mean if they do nothing and on how many do you get punished and what the punishment is on reports

I believe this topic needs to be brought forward so me and other players will know exactly whats going on ( With rates and statistics also )

Because the last thing i want its my account to get banned over stupid things

Don't be an asshole for any reason. Are you being an asshole because you feel justified? Don't. But he was an asshole first? Don't. But I'm just joking about being an asshole? Don't But I'm being an asshole to my friends? Don't. But I'm being an asshole to try and help someone? Don't But I'm being an asshole to a feeder? Don't.

Don't be an asshole.

You'll get reported & punished for:

  • toxicity.
  • intentional feeding.
  • account sharing.
  • installing illegal 3rd party software

This is simple common sense, and Riot has already announced this punishment system since Season 4.

Everything that can get you chat restricted can also get you permabanned if you keep doing it after being punished.

The "standard" way for people to get permabanned is being chat restricted twice, 14-day banned as a final warning and then permabanned.

There are ways to skip these tiers, though. Typically hate speech and death threats get escalated to at least 14-day bans and in some cases instant permabans. If somebody is chat restricted and doesn't change their behaviour in the slightest Riot is also going to assume that those have no effect on you and will escalate your punishment to a 14-day ban, rather than giving you a second chat restriction. Also, if you get punished for trolling/feeding, since it's not a chat related offense, you skip the chat restrictions.

Finally: You can lower the tier of your punishment by exhibiting no negative behaviour for long enough (measured in both, a minimum of time that passed and games that were played). Positive behaviour will further help lowering the punishment tier. Exact formulas are intentionally kept secret so people have incentive to simply not behave badly anymore, rather than behaving just badly enough to not be permabanned. The same applies to how exactly reports are evaluated.

Then there's cheating and "illegal" 3rd party applications. The former can be summarized by: Don't. Everything from an exploit to hacks can ultimately be punished with a permaban if Riot deems it's appropriate. The latter is more complex and I recommend reading the following thread for information: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/player-behavior-moderation/5dmkJinG-3rd-party-applicationsmodifications-whats-allowed-and-what-isnt

typing in chat, losing lane, letting your friend play on your account, and hacking are all reasons for you to be banned. That is all i've learned from riot games and the reasons i have been banned.
