Can I get punished for my internet dying unexpectedly?

I am currently using a new router (working out kinks) and sometimes the internet will just cut out unexpectedly and happened a few times over the past weekend (3 or 4 games). I always come back, explain what happened and continue to play the game in attempt to catch up. Even though I don't get any post match rewards, can I get in trouble for this?

If this happens constantly, you may be punished by the automatic system. Any game in which you do not receive post match rewards is logged and may factor into a punishment in the future.

I recommend fixing your issues and testing in a custom game before continuing to play.

This happens to me pretty often (once a day maybe more sometimes) so I just stop playing for a while when its being a pain. I've never been officially punished but there was a span for a couple weeks when I couldn't earn any rewards.

Unfortunately there's not much to be done. I feel people shouldn't get punished for dc by accident but at the same time it would be too easy for people to abuse if you could just out from a game and abandon your team with no consequence.

Also good fucking luck with riot support. They were zero help to me with the issue (only suggested very basic "turn it off then turn it back on" bullshit) and eventually just didnt respond back to me after nothing had changed. Good times.
