Riot fix your copy paste responses, "warning system"

So before we begin, I just want to let readers know that I have accepted that my 14-day suspension isn't going to be lifted. I still believe that it was an inappropriate judgement, but what I learned is that riot has a very poor time trying to find a balance between players that int and players that have bad games.

TL;DR: I believe I was falsely suspended for having a poor game and sent in a ticket. Riot avoids my problem and covers it up with a "solution" to a different problem and tells me to play better. Now my ~300 level account is 1 step from being perma-banned. Riot needs to fix it's support and report systems.

This is the match that I got suspended for and the ticket only stated this game. One of my worst games in a while, however I was never toxic and my chat was never mentioned in the suspension, so we can move pass the assumption that I was feeding and being toxic. https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/3277320139/233870679?tab=overview&participant=10

After getting suspended, I sent a ticket to riot because I was bewildered at the fact that I was suspended for having a bad game and here's how it went.

14 Day suspension for "feeding" I was playing soraka, died quite a bit in lane. Tristana left, so Draven and Pyke were able to tower dive me. Near mid game, Pyke could ult me and I would die with over half of my health. I don't think that the bad match I had is considered int feeding.

____ here from Player Support.

I totally understand your frustration. It sucks to have an account suspended. I can see that you were dealing with some rough players in that game, so I'll go ahead and take a look at those players and take action where necessary because their behavior was not ok either.

Your account received a 2-week suspension because you were intentionally feeding/griefing in your recent game. Intentionally Feeding/Griefing creates a negative experience for those other players in the game. They are trying to have a fair, competitive, and sportsmanlike game. But by intentionally feeding/griefing takes that away from them and we don't want to encourage that.

Just to let you know, when receiving a 2-week suspension; it is our way of giving the player a final warning. If you receive another intentional feeding suspension the account will be auto-escalated to a permaban. But if you want to avoid that, you can heal from your penalty by playing to your best ability with a neutral-positive mindset.

Again, I know it sucks to have your account get suspended. In the future, I would recommend just playing out the game to the best of your ability to protect yourself from getting penalized like this.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. [Footer]

My response

I wasn't intentionally feeding or griefing and I don't care if you check on the other players in the game because that's not the issue. The issue is that I was falsely penalized because I had a poor game and there were factors in that game that I couldn't control which led to multiple deaths. My match history is consistent, I didn't magically get tilted this game and start tilting.

I was playing a champion that uses my own health to heal others against someone that could execute me with over half my health. My adc left, and that led to the other team being able to monopolize my lane.

Aside from the deaths, my stats stayed relative to my role. I still maintained the highest vision score on my team and high healing output. My level was consistent with the ADC at the end of the game, and I was only 600 gold behind the next lowest person. I didn't deal the least damage, and my CC score was the highest in the game. My chat didn't even indicate that I was int feeding, I was just accused of it.

My "int feed" only takes in account my high amount of deaths in a short period of time, but it doesn't take my relative team performance into account.

Response 2

I know this really sucks and I do apologize for this, but I cannot discuss details regarding our investigation that goes into Intentional feeding cases because players like to use that information to try and circumvent our system to try and prevent from getting caught in the future. But I do feel that the suspension was placed fairly and this does seem more than just "a bad game".

Again, I'm very sorry about this and I truly wish there was more info I could give here. Please feel free to write back if you got any more questions or concerns you would like to discuss.

From my 3-4 years of playing league, I think I have only ever gotten queue dodge timers 3-5 times, I have had 5 honor for the past 2 seasons, I was never chat restricted (with over 300+ games each season), but now my account is on it's first and final warning before becoming perma-banned?

I've already presented the facts in my statement above, but riots response was absolutely terrible. I think I was a little unclear in my initial ticket, but riot basically said, "Ah yes, the people in your game were not okay, let me look into that. I understand that that was not a good game, but next time, just play better." It felt like a slap in the face when they push aside my problem, and the solution is to "look into other people".

I didn't know if I should be frustrated or confused, and it was a combination of both because somehow riot managed to avoid the situation that I was in AND told me to play better to prevent this. If anything, this encounter just makes me want to avoid using the report system because I don't want other players to experience this. I didn't know that a support system could be so out of touch with it's player base that it is upsetting.

... I will never defend a ban complainer, because Riot's ban system works as designed with over 200 years of collective data guiding it. But this ...

Soraka is one of your most played champions. You built regular items. You completed your quest. You took meta support runes, built your champion in a proper way ... Hell you even warded 0.5 wards per minute (and a 90 second cooldown means thats not a bad rate esp. if the constant shove and harass prevented you from stepping out to get vision.

Gonna have to agree. I have no idea what the hell deserved a 2 week ban here.

Here is a running list of notes that i took watching that match's replay.

  • Death 1: Bad play, but not necessarily inting.
  • Death 2, You stood there AAing Draven while Pyke wailed on you.
  • Death 3: You run directly into both Pyke and Draven. At BEST, you were lvl 1 Soraka vs a lvl 2 Draven, but there is NO way you didn't see the visible Pyke on map, they were both in your minions.
  • Death 4: Still lvl 1, you run into AA range of Pyke (lvl 4) and Draven (lvl 3).

So far, it's looking pretty bad. Continuing...

  • Death 5: Trist looks to have disconnected. While you are STILL lvl 1, you still run to the tower and get killed under it. Would this one alone be inting? No, but combined with your knowledge that the minions are at your tower, both are lvl 4, and will only take a couple Draven AAs to kill you, you should not have been there.
  • Death 6: You are way over extended for being out leveled, out itemed, and in general just playing badly.

At this point it looks like you have given up on caring about the game. You are playing as if you have a massive lead, but are woefully behind. Continuing...

  • Death 7: Your tower is almost gone, you should not be anywhere near it given the state of your lane.
  • Death 8: Trist is back by this point. You leave lane to walk through a dark jungle. Again, on its own, not inting, but coupled with the rest above, it clearly shows you have no regard for the state of the game.
  • Death 9: You are caught out with poor positioning (and massively under leveled and under powered).
  • Death 10: They are so far ahead and catch you and a teammate out in a 4 (them) v 2 (you)
  • Death 11: You flash to get out of the way so you don't get blasted by Diana, but then walk right back in to be killed.
  • Death 12: A massively fed Pyke cleans up and goes 2-for-1 in a 2 (them) v 5 (you)
  • Death 13: Garen and diana just walk in and stomp in a 2 (them) v 4 (you) after your team kills two around a dragon fight
  • Death 14: A little bit less than half HP, Pyke executes you
  • Death 15: Obliterated by DIana at base

Overall assessment:

While you began playing like you should towards the end of the game, that doesn't explain, nor excuse your first deaths. Of the first 5 deaths, the only one that did not look like inting was death #1, the rest you are not just playing poorly, you are playing with what seems as intent to feed. Number 2 was especially egregious, with you standing still while Pyke hit you.

If I were Riot Support, I would stand by the punishment.

Doesn't look like inting at all tbh

Your ban was not incorrect, and the support agents handled it appropriately. This is abundantly clear from looking at your match history and the particular match that you were punished for.

Don’t grief your teammates.

OP, I've seen someone play Soraka very aggressively before and it worked! I'd say that you like to play aggro. I watched some of the Sona match before the 'Raka one as well and it was similar. You like to flirt with danger. But once you get caught out then its like a counter punch in the gut. Couldn't watch other 'Raka games since the last one was too far back.

That said, Number #4 death was a bit off. I don't know why you're trying to play that aggressively. If Number #3 was sorta acceptable because your minions were pushing and you didn't expect them to try to kill you in the wave. Then Number #4 was a little bit off. Their wave is pushing and you're trying to get a flimsy Q off. It was like you were completely underestimating them that they couldn't do anything to punish you for doing so. And at some point, you have to back off, right? You had 3 deaths already! That should be a wake-up call! Especially against Draven. He's more broken than Caitlyn/Jinx/Kai'sa once he gets fed with stacks!

For Number #4, you still tried to dodge the Pyke Q and it would have definitely worked if your bush wasn't warded. Death #14, you saw Pyke. He has ult, you shouldn't be in lane when you're that low. He just R'd you and that was it. Overall, the problem was that you kept trying to make plays happen or do something to change the status quo. Its unfortunate but things didn't turn around. You can't 1v2 people! Your intent to feed here wasn't obvious. (As in, you weren't standing there spamming emotes while waiting for them to kill you or something like that) So, I don't think that you deserve the punishment because I could give you the benefit of doubt here based on playstyle. Unfortunately, Riot thinks otherwise! Not much we can do about it.

Champion choice wise - Its better for you to play something like Leona in the future. If you had a Leona instead of 'Raka with Ignite and you kept trying to jump Draven with Tristana, things may have been different.

How do you die 15 times in a 21:21 timed game? I think this was deserved.

I think this is what some people refer to as "soft inting", where you int but you try to pass it off as just a bad game. I have no opinion on it, as I didnt watch the game, thats just the general vibe im getting from others' analyses of the game. Some will be happy about this that Riot is punishing such poor play that walks the line of inting and typical poor decision making, others will be angry that Riot would punish someone for this. In the end, its Riot's call, and banning innocent players for no reason isnt a good move for them so I'm sure they saw it as inting and who am I to disagree. Only you know your intent, and of course no one should just take your word for it.

I can only imagine the frustration youre feeling over such an unjust thing, if in your heart you know you did nothing wrong. That must suck and I feel for ya on that.
