So I just got out of a game with 3 negative teammates. They tilted early and couldn't make a comeback because of this. I get into my next game lobby and tried to lift people's spirits and remind them to get into the right mindset. Here is how the conversation ensued.

Me: positive players win more games. stay positive Me: we got this Player 1: stfu Player 2: ur gay Player 1: im so sick of r%%%%%s in my game Me: alright great way to know who to mute early Player 1: i don’t give a fuck Player 3: no im with trist Player 3: fuckign braindead trash out here

Keep in mind Player 1 was the bot laner that I was supposed to support. I dodged... and have no intention of playing another game today.

The worst part about this is that there is no way to report this, and I am the one that gets punished for dodging when 3 players had reportable behavior before the game even started. Rito, please do something. Your game culture is terrible and you have not found a way to fix it since I started playing in 2013. I am ready to quit.

I have screenshots if anyone from Riot is interested (or cares tbh)

I frequently start positive and try to lift spirits. About 2 every 5 times in my experience, people will react like that in lobby, and I say no more. 2 out of 5, nobody reacts at all. The remainder, people react positively and we have a good game.

Riot is not looking to encourage good behavior, I believe this is their critical flaw in the behavior system. They're obsessed with slapping around players instead of actually promoting ACTUAL good behavior. The honors system is, at best, a way to recognize someone generally isn't breaking the rules in chat.

Sadly, full muting all is the easiest way to have a peaceful game if you are triggered by chat.

Just do it, the 1 in a 100 defeats that someone will actually say something nice and lift your spirit isn't worth the 99 other times that people target you or other allies with insults to cover their own shortcomings.
