Why so many permanent bans?

Looking at the new threads tab, there's so many people complaining lately about permanent bans. I don't think anyone should have their account permanently banned unless they have been caught cheating. Very unfair IMO, just suspend them for a month max in place of perma.

I'm not perma banned or anything, just feel bad for the people that are. Everyone has bad games, and I don't think you should punish people to the extent that you do. Please unban everyone you have labeled for a permanent ban recently, unless they have been caught scripting or cheating in some other way. You will bring back many players and I can almost guarantee the majority of them will all have much better attitudes to avoid 30 day suspensions in the future.

People who did something to get a permanent ban deserved it. People who do those sorts of things do not deserve to enjoy the privilege of playing.

I've seen Phreak being kinda passive aggressive when he's talking on stream, but in his games he's not. Also, learn to use some sort of punctuation.

"learn to use some sort of punctuation." literally passive aggressive and you dont need to mention my punctuation im not here to fulfill anything and its not just people that get banned they literally sent a message saying 0.006% get banned which is a lie because they have a lot of inactive players because they keep the account on file and second innocent people that get caught in a troll have nothing they can do you can say "It's just a game." but in reality people are competitive about gaming and want to take it serious and get somewhere but they think since they arent the ones getting banned it doesnt matter

I'm telling you to use some punctuation because it makes your points easier to read. I had to spend a good 10 minutes reading and rereading your response.
0.006% is actually a pretty realistic number. To put this in perspective, LOL has 100 million active accounts per month. If we take the percentage that Riot gives, that's around 60,000 permabanned accounts. We don't know if that 0.006% is active members or all accounts, but either way, that seems pretty reasonable for how many accounts are active per month.
Your point about innocent people getting banned is just wrong. I've been playing since S1, I've been caught in games where there has been a troll. And yet I've been able to not get any sort of punishment on my account. You have to control your temper, sometimes things aren't going to go your way, that's life. This applies not just to League but to real life as well.
You can take this game very seriously and in a competitive manner, but that doesn't give you the right to lose your temper. Not only does it not do anyone any good, but you can get in trouble in professional sports. In the NFL you can get fined, in Soccer you can get kicked out of the game.

Id rather have toxic players than bad players. The reason why players are toxic is because of their team mates they have. Ive gotten perma banned yesterday because i was getting feeders in ranked in 16+ games straight over the course of 3 days. 1 or 2 times, sure i dont care if you feed. But if i keep getting these teams where I get a master Yi mid saying how he doesnt care if we win or not, then goes 0-12 in 15 minutes, then go to normals to play. He doesnt get banned, but I do, because I have to deal with their shit while they get to troll.

When people are chat restricted permanently, something RIOT did in the past, they just became non-verbally toxic and griefed/trolled/int. fed. Fuck that. Ban 'em for not having self-control. I don't want to play with petulant children who can't act their age.

Or add a fine or "bond" system. Take part in actions that would usually get your account perma banned? You account is now in "jail" until you pay the fine to get it out. $25 fee anyone? Revenue anyone? Players would pay it and stop being toxic. No company should ever just tell their customers "we don't want you"... which is exactly what a perma ban is doing.

You forgot to log into your smurf before you circlejerk. Also, it's a terrible idea, because it doesn't address the problem. People don't want to play with toxic assholes. You don't get to buy your way out of jail.

Also, companies can, should, and do say 'we don't want you' to people who hurt their business. That means thieves, assholes, and anyone fucking else.

I know this is going to sound like a jerk thing to say, but I don't feel bad for people who get permabanned.

A person doesn't have to cheat just to get perma'd. If a person is extremely toxic ingame (such as telling others to kill themselves, as a more common example I saw in Bronze and I see in Silver), and they are reported and banned as a result, I don't really feel any pity for that person. The person who got banned chose to be toxic and ruin someone else's day. I don't feel bad if they get their just desserts.

I like League, but I absolutely hate the toxic people in this community, and I am kind of glad that Riot is banning those toxic people. Though, it's thinly veiled, since those toxic people will just make new accounts and continue to be toxic, and with that, possibly scare away any potential new players from this game.

Banning people for what they say in game has got to be the most extreme way to handle shit-talkers. A simple chat restriction is the most that should happen here. Like srsly riot, wtf?

Punish them, sure. Don't ban their account. That's a lot of time wasted. I honestly feel that it should be illegal for any gaming company to ban players accounts due to anything but cheating. The world we live in today is full of trash talk. If you can't handle it, then you shouldn't be on the internet. The cry babies that report are worse than the people being toxic in my opinion.

Or, you could realize just because others do it doesn't mean you should do it too. And it's not "their" account. Riot owns the account. Riot is simply lending you a rental usership of it.

Can we have a subscription based model that prevents you from getting your account banned for anything less than cheating via third party program? $10/month for account security. I feel as though players need something. I don't want our player base to dwindle because people can't argue with each other. It's been a part of every single online competitive game, ever.
