The truth that flamers need to see

I've had to deal with flamers forever. Flamers who sit and play the game, questioning all of their teammate's plays, while they act like their shit doesn't stink. Acting like they're somehow Apdo, even though they're making the same amount of mistakes everyone else is making.

Recently, LS coached a flamer, and he told the truth to him here: https://clips.twitch.tv/AlertDependableLaptopKappa . It's not about your teammates, it's about you. There is no reason to focus on what your teammates are doing, because if you focus on yourself you can improve to the point where the teammates don't matter.

I recommend watching the whole video here (starts at around 4:40). At the end LS offers to keep coaching this guy because he HAD to make him see how flaming is holding him back before he could get on to the actual coaching.

Basically, don't be a dick. It doesn't get you anywhere, and there's literally no reason to be one. It's not going to magically make your teammates play better, instead, it's going to detract from your own learning, and instead of being able to improve you're going to stagnate while it's "always your team's fault". It's actually ridiculous how many blame your team posts I see that get upvoted lately.

Its funny how much better actual team sports do than league of legends at being a team.

I can literally remember each and every one of my teamates from each and every sport getting(flamed) the absolute gambit ran on them over their responibility to the team, and how anything less than their absolute best was utterly disrespectful and basically grounds for never being played with again. I also heard plenty of good constructive criticism. Both of which i believe improved their overall play and were vital to keeping the team one coherent entity.

In league you get what you get and dont pitch a fit, there is no critisicm, there is no snapping them into reality and into responibility. If your teamate is worse than you in every single way, it isnt worth even giving them advice as youll never see them again.

League is a terrible team sport in this fashion, as your team are basically ghosts with anger management problems and zero responsibility to perform at their best.

"its not about your teamates" is literally the worst possible quality any team based sport can have.

Let's punch holes in a few talking points for the sake of being the devil's advocate :

1 ) You queue up every ranked games with 4 team mates who AFK every single game you join. Do your team mates matter now? So since we've established that they DO matter, let's stop trying to lie about it.

2 ) "Basicaly, don't be a dick. It doesn't get you anywhere, and there's literally no reason to be one." I want to be an asshole to the people exerting the most effort to throw the game for everyone else on the team. There's a reason.

3 ) Being an asshole doesn't necessarily mean you're going to stop learning. You can blame people for their mistakes while still acknowledging your own mistakes and learning from them. People pushing the narrative that "you should always be nice" generally try to force ideas like this together under the veil that you can't do one without the other.

4 ) One person can cost you the game because the game is team-oriented. One person can't solo carry an entire game. ( This is the part where someone claims to solo carry games by equating solo carry to having a team present and playing the game and helping out )

Why do people pay LS for this garbage? Im tryin to watch this clip, but this guys obviously either new to the role/champ or VERY fkin nervous, and there's so many things he needs to be told to fix on basic shit like how he's burning his mana to kill creeps ineffectively and isnt even using his W to push after zed backs, but LS doesnt correct any of this and instead just occassionally makes frustrated comments about mechanical shit that are typical gold player problems as if he should have expected better? Im sorry but Tyler1 is a better coach than this, and not saying that to be endearing lol.

I don't even care if you die in those situations, just don't blow up about it. I don't mind in the slightest if I have a teammate that starts 0-3, so long as they keep a cool head about it and play defensively. There is NO BENEFIT to flaming in game. It can only hurt your team.

"playing casually" Well why the fuck are they playing RANKED?

My brother's fiancee makes him tell himself this whenever he flames: (Rough translation from Mandarin, but pretty close) "I am a 26 year old unemployed chubby man who enjoys calling twelve year olds autistic retards over a video game that I get angry and have smashed a computer over." It doesn't permanently stop him from flaming, but it does help him see some sense, and he behaves pretty well until he either gets banned again, or until he forgets about it.

You can hear how the flamer suddenly quiets down and shifts uncomfortably in his seat after LS makes his point.

Not being rude or anything, but if a jungler comes top lane for example to gank decides to leave you to a 1v1 you lost, is that your fault for believing in your teamates in a team game?

Team game. The team matters more than you no matter how good you are. There will never be a point where team doesn't matter, and Riot enforces that.

Flaming doesn't improve your chances of winning, but hey, at least it makes the game more fun than playing with a bunch of bonobos

Sick of watching everything happen around me while being unable to do anything.

the only thing i have to disagree with "you can improve to the point where your teammates actions dont matter" is just simply wrong. this is a TEAMGAME and the saying "one player can lose you the game, but one player cant win you the game" has been around forever.

? how can i focus on myself when every single game feels like a 1 v 5. This a perfect example between NA vs KR, who gets the chance to play casually on rank when you have teammates that feeds and TROLLS IN GAME.

There is no reason to focus on what your teammates are doing, because if you focus on yourself you can improve to the point where the teammates don't matter.

lollllll

The point is if you were a better player you would not have been in that situation in the first place.

Yeahhhh someone's words are not valid
