Restriction System Improvement Implement?

While I may not care as much as many others, since I'm not getting into gold anytime soon and can afford skins, I find the taking away all privileges for the entire year/season, kind of extreme for a simple chat restriction. I understand that the good people at Riot are against having a toxic fanbase and are very strict in doing so, but I think that improvement, maybe measured in honors (friends not weighed very heavily) should lift removal of privileges such as borders or now, hextech chests. I think that being basically removed/silenced from the LoL community for such a long time won't teach people their lesson as well as a way back in would. Would be great to get a response from Rito FlyingSushi809

I'm trying to find out exactly what kind of restrictions prevent Hextech loot and for how long, but I'm under the impression it's not that bad. I'll try to follow up when I get an answer. As for the Ranked rewards, you aren't going to lose them for a chat restriction; last season the rule was that if you had an active chat restriction during reward distribution you wouldn't get them, or if you had a ban within the last 3 months (or an MMR boosting ban at any time).

Whats funny is Riot has the most toxic fan base of any game and most games that have no major punishment systems have nicer less toxic communities...does Riot ever stop to wonder if their toxic community is related to their overreaching attempts to control the populace?

Kind of a non-update on Hextech loot eligibility, but this is what I've found so far;

We're working on putting out a better explanation for this. For players that are punished by the Instant Feedback system and work off the punishment, they will still be restricted from earning Hextech chests or keys for a period while the system ensures that they have reformed their behavior. There is no fixed interval here - if you continue to play with sportsmanlike behavior, you'll eventually get back into good standing. We're looking into making a player's status more clear/visible to help avoid this kind of confusion.
