potential changes to the reporting system suggestions

make a timed system where reporting people adds them to a "black list". you cant play with someone on your blacklist for 2 hours or the rest of the day etc, or a system where every game without a report on you removes you from one games worth black lists.. ie the first game you were reported, if you were reported by 5 people, you will be removed from those 5 peoples black lists after the first game you play without a report from anyone. 2nd game without reports 2nd set black lists cleared etc. simple and effective to a certain extent for removing toxic players from our games.

those that would abuse it and send false reports to stack their games(not entirely effective with either given option).. well.. temporarily ban them since they would be breaking plenty of rules all at once.

would be a good enough reason to bring back tribunal.. i mean tribunal would do 3 things at once if brought back for this. 1 clear black lists of invalid reports yes.. that means good players are removed from black lists faster. 2 punish bad players. and 3 find people who abuse the system by keeping track of however many reports sent to tribunal dont go through, the reports that dont lead to tribunal.. not counted as valid/invalid as the system would be the only thing to say if it was a valid/invalid report(above system of good behavior games clears these black lists).

unskilled players(removed already?) as it is either a temporary problem or the player shouldnt be in the same game to start with as well as not being a truely punishable report either way.. shouldnt be counted for this system and only serve to prevent the same players being in the same game the next queue. if it does happen to be gone already it should be brought back as a simple prevent one game with this player button( the players can be placed together although unlikely after either player finishes a game or after an hours time passes) in the report ui, granted the above is still true with any behavior not being punishable and just unpleasant.

reports of cheating/hacking should instead of being sent to tribunal be sent to riot player support or whoever currently deals with this atm if not automated and actions decided there.

to prevent any high elo any players abusing it.. which yes can become a thing.. if a lot of their reports arent actually valid, reduce their lp gains and increase losses (basically causing the opposite of what they wanted? easy lp gains.. turns into very easy lp losses) or since the majority of really toxic players that are complained about are at the bottom of their tier or silver/bronze or so ive seen.. make this punishment only apply for those players allowing easy demotion?

and leaver buster.. yes the one system everyone is least happy about.. make it a system where the team that had the afk has the biggest decision on someone being flagged. people already know how to avoid the punishments the automated system would otherwise hand out to them. the team with the afk is the team most affected so they should have the biggest voice for deciding to punish or not. the enemy team although less affected doesnt exclude them from having a say. an example of power to punish, if the whole enemy team reports as well as 2 on the afks team it should count as 3/5 instead of 7/9 excluding the afk as a vote ofc. ie whole enemy team vote counts same as one ally team member vote (yes i have caused someone to leave because i got a double that was pure luck against a team that was already trolling with 2 top laners, with me being solo, the gnar came back but the other guy didnt... maybe i was on a smurf account idk.. but still it is rare for either team to know with 100% certainty the reason behind the leave. he may have had connection issues and dived turret on accident after a partial dc with lag followed by a full dc at the worst timing possible) also a 5 man premade may have decided one person needs to afk for a long period of time to let the enemy team catch up for whatever reason(they always have surrender vote if they arent tearing out eachothers throats and want to leave for another game) or know that their teammate is having connection issues(in the case of being on skype as well) that would prevent a lot of unfair leaverbuster punishments.

however all this doesnt mean i consider the new ui for reporting bad, it certainly is a step in the right direction as it now acknowledges the possibility of cheating/hacking. if it isnt possible already, allow multiple check marks to be placed on a single report as some people feed on purpose, have negative attitudes, verbally abuse the team, and afk after feeding/trolling..

tldr

  1. black lists that are added on reporting someone that is cleared by good behavior and by tribunal forgiveness
  2. new "report" option to prevent you being placed with reported for one queue/game(to avoid generally unpleasant people)
  3. bring back player run tribunal to help with this system set up
  4. to prevent abuse of the blacklists use harsher punishments as multiple rules would be broken in abusing it
  5. toss out leaverbuster and let the afks team decide to punish or not
  6. if not already possible allow multiple check marks on the new report ui
  7. sorry for my lack of organization to anyone that did read it all.. i just felt like doing this as it has been bugging me for a long while

  1. False reporting already drops the weight of the reports that player makes. Means any reports that player makes will have less effect on whether it'll trigger the system.

  2. Any blacklisting to avoid playing with a particular person both increases queue times due to needing to match multiple lists, as well as undermines the mmr system, making it populartiy contest and gives trolls one more means to blackmail players into getting what they want.

  3. Why put the LeaverBuster under player reports? If they left, they left. The system is actually really good at detecting not just disconnections, but AFK behavior that people try to pull to avoid detection by that system. It really doesn't matter if it was a rage quit, bad wifi, or a power failure. A DC still leaves the team in a 4v5. It's not fair to them, and it's not fair to the opposing team.

  4. As far as I know they are still working on the new Tribunal. No idea how close they are to release.

  5. Why do they need multiple reasons? The players decide why they report, but if the system decides it belongs under a different one, a punishment will still go through.
